Nice setup; that'll sound clean as hell. I can't comment on the 2nd batt, just love a nice, well thought-out setup.

It does sound very well but this light dimming is bugging the hell out of me.
It did a 153.2 db and I think there's more left in it

are you doing one 4 ga run for all 3 amps? if so that should be a 0 ga run.

i havent looked, but where do they put them in the heavy dutys? i know in the older GM the spot was still there so i would utilize it when i could.

dont forget to get a battery isolator also.

What are you running as a main battery? and you really shouldn't have any kind of dimming with that mechman as I ran same power if not a little more on all stock electrical with no dimming. I would double check your grounds first and then spend money later.

I would look into the Northstar NSB AGM94R for a replacement battery (if you go that route). I'm in the battery business, very high quality batteries.

The dimming isn't bad. It's more of a slight flicker but its enough to **** me off after the cash I've spent.

I'll check all ground this weekend and probably going to replace all factory grounds with 4 awg since I've got about 15' left over

That's a great idea, I would also get rid of that yellow top, I sell auto parts and that battery is literally the most returned item in the store because they don't last like they used too.

Is it as good as a XS d4800 ?

The D4800 is a 48BCI group, physically it is smaller than our oem battery and will not fit the tray the same.

I do believe XS Power is manufactured by Northstar with Telecom posts, for whatever reason

General rule of thumb with batteries, the heavier the battery is, the better it is. the NSB-AGM94R is 5% heavier than that XS D4800.

NSB_AGM 94R - 1,650 Cranks for 5 seconds, 860CCA after / 159 Minutes Reserve. 70Ah

XS D4800 - 815CCA / 120 Minutes Reserve. 60Ah

For arguments sake.

Optima 34/78 Yellow Top - 750CCA / 120 Minutes Reserve. 55Ah

I would definitely look into the Northstar, this battery will be huge in a few years. It is sold as a oe option in lots of fleet vehicles, buses, etc.

The second battery will help run the system longer but unless you are running an independent battery with a low peak time it won't help your issue. I would recommend installing a second battery like an XS4800 which have very low draw times so there should be less voltage drop from the battery on sudden bass hits. It really shouldn't be an issue since you're running the Mechman but isolating your audio from the car battery should help eliminate the problem if you have an isolator installed.

I'm running dual yellow tops, I know they're not the best battery but they sure do the job for me.

Problem solved.

Went to leave work at lunch time and truck cranked over slower than normal. Went got the battery tested and it failed after 4-1/2 months. They replaced it under warranty and all is good now. No light flicker and subs sound a little more crisper.

I'm going do another clamp test on my amps to see if the voltage has changed

I'll be ordering three XS tomorrow and the aluminum to fab bus bars.

Thanks for yiur comments and suggestions

With a Mechman 300 you should be good way over what you are running. Just wondering why you are ordering three more batteries? You going to upgrade?

I want to isolate the sound from the starting system.
One will be for starting and the other two will be for the amps.
I will be upgrading to t2500-1 next year
