Hello all, first time posting in a forum. I have a 2017 dodge ram 1500 with 3.6l pentastar . I just replaced a bad rocker arm on left bank, and immediately after reassembly I have a permanent “Service Electronic Throttle Control” message. I have done this job many times, I am very confident in my abilities but this one’s got me stumped at the moment . I tried a new throttle body, tried to “reset” throttle body, and I tested voltage between Pin 1 (Throttle Motor +) and battery ground . 1.29 Volts and doesn’t change. I don’t currently have access to a wiring diagram that shows the throttle wiring all the way back to the PCM. I usually use pro demand to diagnose this type of issue, however I do not currently have access. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It may be referring to the Gas Pedal. I think I've had this issue temporarily with a Pedal Commander installed. Try inspecting/re-seating the plug on your gas pedal.

Put the scanner to it this morning, and I’m pretty certain I have a large vac leak.. It’s acting like a vac leak and additionally it’s coding for a vac leak. I have done this job many many times on dodge caravans, 300s, Durangos, this is the first time on a dodge ram. I’m going to try and find a vacuum line diagram , and go from there . Maybe even pull the intake back off .

It ended up being the upper intake not properly sealing to the lower. I have put these together so many times , a lot of times the plastic threads are stripped out but they still bolt on and seal with no issues. This particular engine had about 3 out of the 7 mounting threads stripped. Took the intake back off, reseated, all good.

How many miles on that Pentastar? Any idea about OCIs and type of oil?

This particular engine customer says he gets it changed every 6,000 - 7,000 miles and says he purchases synthetic blend. I worked for a place near the Metro Detroit Airport that puts 100,000 miles on their cars a year average. They were doing 10,000 mile OCI with a synthetic blend oil and I replaced so many camshafts and rocker arms there it’s not even funny .
