We installed a new transmission last year and a 2004 Dodge ram Cummins 2500. The mechanic replaced the indicator light switch . Now its doing it again . While in drive it jumps from overdrive to reverse . Anyone have this issue ?

Is the switch mounted correctly in the transmission case? It's really easy to get it crooked.

When I have a truck come in like yours with your concern tht first thing I do is inspect how the switch is mounted and I inspect/wiggle/ the connector and wiring harness.

On a 16 year old truck I would inspect the connector to make sure it doesn't have any transmission fluid inside of the connector and I would inspect the integrity of the wiring terminals in the connector.

Next, I would perform the wiggle test on the harness to see if I can make it act up.
