There's a lot more than these. I mean, how many does it take before you decide to run with the better odds of the V6 rather than the V8?
Not trying to be a pain in the ass here, just trying to do some research and make an informed decision.

Why not replace bolts with a true grade 8 or grade 12 stainless and anti seize the **** out of them problem solved

5 Ram 1500's and all with the Hemi 5.7 since 2005. 4 had over 150k and my latest (2017) is only at 22k. I was driving just under 200 miles per day for work until this past year (I telecommute now :))
Never had a single engine or exhaust issue in any of the trucks.
The 3.6 is a decent engine that runs in a lot of different platforms also. Buy what you're comfortable with.

Thanks James. It's posts like this one that still make me think I might still go for the hemi. I'm gonna keep researching, I'm not purchasing until around November, so I got time to think and obsess about it. Lol

They probably do, but are the numbers released for people to know?
Keep in mind 600000 trucks sold / year mostly hemis so lets round it to 500000 to exclude v6's. Multiply by 10 to cover all years of gen 4's. So 5 million hemi trucks. How many reports have you seen 100??.
People tend to post their complaints but rarely post their praise. So if there were 0.1% failure that would be 5000 trucks or 1 in 1000 hemis. Most likely not worth the worry.

I’ve got almost 65k on my 17, no issues at all, I would like to to see a documented report on such an issue if it does exist, drive it like it’s meant to be, you’ll be fine, fun part of being a Ram owner is working on your truck, if my bolts break, I’ll fix it

Had a 2000 Dodge Dakota with the 4.7L V8 that did this. It wasn't hard to fix. Time consuming and space wasn't on my side. If it happens to my 2015 RAM then I'll fix it too.

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to be able to wrench on my own truck.

Unfortunately that's one of the worse things about the internet.
Just look at politics and sports.

Yeah there is some positive, but I think we all can agree the negative out weighs it.

Bought my 2015 with 7 miles on it, it now has 93k and only warranty work was for the manifold bolts, both sides. As far as lifters/cam, no issues yet. I would like to see service records on those trucks as far as oil changes go and compare idle hours to driving hours. I may be a little old fashioned, but I have a hard time buying the 10k oil change intervals that are recommended now. I generally stick to 3k and no more than 5 before I am changing oil on mine...

I read what you said about concerns with the hemi 5.7. I got my 05 hemi sport about a year ago with about 280,000 now closing in on 300,000. I guess I should be worried about exhaust bolts breaking. I don't have the problem at this time. If you spend your time being a worrier you will miss out on life and never have time to smell the coffee.

I have to agree with you on that. 10K between oil changes is just too much. changing it early isn't going to hurt anything.

I appreciate that advice, but it's not that I'm a worry wart. Just trying to make a smart purchase is all.
