Should I update the software?

Hello all, I am new to this forum and hoping to get some advice. My Uconnect version is 15.26.xx. I know that is outdated. So, I am thinking should I mess with it and update to the latest software? I called three dealers earlier, cheapest one would charge me 47.50. However, he said there would be a risk of locking up the radio.

I just updated mine to 17.43.01. Everything was good. I got file from https://www.ramforum.com/threads/in...ra3-vp3-na-ra4-vp4-na-uax.73871/#post-1125803 in case you do not have it.

I’d suggest you read through the entire “sticky” thread on “Roll Up Info” at the top of the forum page. Pretty much covers most questions you might have on the update, process, and potential pitfalls.
