Well I thought I'd swallow my pride a bit and admit that these Depo headlights I got from DOTCOMRACING on ebay are complete junk. They look nice, until they start getting condensation all over the inside of the headlight lens. A little while after I got them installed I started getting condensation on the inside of the passenger side lens. I emailed DOTCOMRACING and I basically have to RMA it back to them at my own cost which is rather ridiculous. I haven't even had a chance to do that yet and now I've got condensation in the driver's side headlight as well.

I just sent them a message tonight asking for a refund of my money. I don't want to go through the trouble of another set having the same issue. I would rather have my money back.

Oh and I have a couple of questions! I see on your site you painted a set of 4th Gen Duals with a Deep Cherry Red Outline and the rest of them in Brilliant Black. I was wondering what it would cost me for a similar job except instead of Deep Cherry Red I would like a blue that matches the blue color of my bed stripes which is the mopar blue. I would like the bowls left chrome and the housings done in Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl.

My other question is in regards to my stock headlights. I made a rather futile attempt a few months ago at baking my driver side one and prying it apart. It didn't cooperate, I never got it apart and when I put new sealant around the lips that connect the housing to the lens I did a rather sloppy job and it gets condensation on the inside now. I forget what your process is as far as exchanging painted lights for my stock ones but I just wanted to know that if I decide to order a set of your lights if I get a refund on the Crapos if you would accept my light like that.

Shoulda bought Retros. Let this be a lesson to the rest of you all trying to pinch a few pennies. If I get my refund, I'll be ordering a set from JJ.

sorry to hear they were crappy. If you are going to go through jj, save the extra money and get projectors done.......you WILL NOT regret it.

Wouldn't I need those for HIDs? I just run Silverstar Ultras in my duals and I'm okay with them.

You live and learn. I guess it depends on the company. I have been luck on my last 2 dodges with aftermarket lights.

I have seen a LOT of new Ram lights hit the market recently, and I have seen a number of threads like this. SUCKS!!

I can't say that I don't get leakers from time to time, but I do my best to ensure that we don't have a problem. I use a dual seal of butyl and silicone. Does a great job!

On painted sets (OEM colors) they run 240 shipped in the lower 48. Adding in a secondary color runs $50 more, mainly to cover the time invested in taping, etc. So, a black and blue setup would run $290 shipped, using your lights or my cores.

Brilliant black huh? Can I make a recommendation? The wheels and grill look to be satin.......and the blue would pop more against a satin set. Want to do satin instead? It would run $40 cheaper overall. :birgits_tiredcoffee

On your lights - I'd really need to see some pics of them. It may work out best that we just use yours for the work, but it all depends on if they are booger'd up. I typically do not take in lights that have been modified, as I would have to get them back to a stock looking setup to be used for the next customer. But yeah, shoot me some pics and we can determine next steps.

The projectors would require HIDs.

WOW. Thats quite funny.

Now here's the picture of my stock headlight that I tried to take apart. It's in really good shape as I never really got it anywhere near apart. I just pried around the edges where the lens meets the black housing to no avail. Attempted to use some silcone gasket sealer to seal it back up and did a rather sloppy job. Pretty sure the silicone could just be pulled off of it. Next time I'm leaving such a job to the professional.

I'm waiting on a reply from DOTCOMRACING. Not sure how long this process will take to ship them back or if they will give me a refund or not.

Oh and I would prefer the brilliant black over the satin. My grille is plasti-dipped. Just an experiment to give it the blacked out look. I am going to pick up a painted brilliant black sport grille sometime down the road.

Nah they aren't bad the silicone was just done hastily. Wished I hadn't tried to do it myself in the first place. I'm guess DOTCOMRACING will reply to me sometime tomorrow. If I get the refund I'm looking for I'll be hitting you up for a set. Won't be set in stone until I've got money in hand though.

The Depos are highly irritating. I put my stock headlights back on tonight. At least with my stock ones the driver side one (that I ghetto siliconed) is the only one that leaks and despite the ghetto silicone job it still doesn't leak as bad as the depos.

----- Original Message -----
I received your email response in regards to my headlight leaking and I apologize for not having gotten back earlier. I work nights so it can be difficult to correspond at times. I wanted to inform you that the passenger side light was the only one leaking at first but that now the driver side headlight is doing the same thing. Both headlights have condensation on the inside of the lens. I would like a refund if at all possible. Being that I have to find the time to ship these myself with money being short at the moment I don't want to get another set only to have them leak as well. These are a pain to remove and reinstall as the process requires me to remove the grille and to access headlight retainers that have to be reached from inside the wheel wells. Please let me know what I need to do. Thank you.

So supposedly they are sending me a set and then expect me to send the old ones. I suppose that's pretty good service because I could just screw them and not send the other ones back but I'm not that kind of person. Would still prefer a refund but I think I'll just test this new set when and if I get them and see if they leak. If they don't I'll sell them off and get Retros.
