hey guys,
I have a question for the guys with the 2012 and 6spd trans.. when the truck shifts into 4th do you get a rough shifts or a jerking kind of motion?

It only happens when shifting into 4th at low speeds about 40(ish) mph or when the rpms are low, at high speeds or when the the rpms are high the shift is much smoother. Also all other shifts are smooth with now issues at all.

would appreciate and input :).

About 9k miles and to be honest i cant remember it being this much, and i really only noticed it over the last month or so. Thought it was coz of the DSP, so uninstalled and drove around for 2 weeks without it and still the same.

looks like i'll be asking the dealer to look into it on the next visit. hopefully it isn't bad.

Yeah, your kinda stuck, if you were outta warranty or close I'd say upgrade your valve body to a Sheridan. You can switch out old fluid and try running Redline tranny fluid, if you have a sticky clutch that would likely cure it, but you can't risk doing anything to your warranty so you are kinda stuck as far as upgrading it goes.

My 2013 6 speed does the same thing and feels like it bogs at the same time only in that gear.

Probably the MDS

Mines kinda jerky at 40mph. It also feels like the computer doesn't know weather to de-activate the 4 cylinders or not.

disabled mds with the DSP, same jerking motion. actually feels less jerky with MDS enabled.

Umm, I do think these trannys could use a way better tune from stock.

My '12 has done it since new. 14k on it now.

I've had it to the dealer, they "don't feel it."

It seems worse with the MDS, but even with the MDS disabled, it is slightly smoother, but still there.

My '02 Durango with the same transmission shifts way smoother than my '12 Ram - which leads me to believe it is a combination of MDS and torque management - meaning it's "normal" and learn to live with it.

My 2012 RT does it even with my Bully Dog and MDS turned off.
I got on it hard the other day and heard and felt a pop. But nothing seems broken. Still coverd by warranty so I guess I'll drive it until something fails.
Will post results when it does.

Not all 2012's do it. Mine is bone stock and shifts smooth in all the gears at 8k miles.
