Hi all. New to the site and thanks in advance for your help.

I have a 2014 1500 sport crew cab 4WD with 20” wheels and 275/60-20 tires. No lift or leveling, totally stock. I want to switch to 17” wheels but I’m considering increasing the tire size (overall diameter compared to what I have. My question is what size tires can I put on 17” rims that won’t rub and without any suspension modifications, etc? Do I need any offset and how much?

This is absolutely a question somebody has asked once or twice before :D

285/70R17 is tried and true. Bigger can work, search function strongly advised.

2017 Rebel. I went from 285/70-17s to 305/70-17 with no issues.
A Rebel with the conventional coil spring suspension has a higher ride height from the factory vs the Sport trim truck, could make a difference.

The Rebels with air ride are the same way. They achieve that extra inch of ride height essentially by using the first off-road mode on the non-Rebel trucks with air ride. My Limited has air ride but my OF1 mode is NRH on a Rebel. That’s why Rebels only have one off-road mode and the other trucks have two, one for inch higher and another for two inches higher.

I don’t know how they achieve the higher height on the spring-ride Rebels.
