Started my truck this morning and was meet by a CEL. Drove my granddaughter to work stopped at the dealer to have it checked. Surprise no stored code just the CEL light on. He asked if I wanted him to clear it I said yup. I checked the Ram App and surprise everything is in the green.

I guess we shall see if it comes back again. IMG_7945.JPG

How the heck is there a CEL with no code?
I didn't bother to ask. I was going to buy the bluetooth adaptor ODB Reader to use with AlfaODB and do some programing. I think I am going to hold off and see what is going on. If I get that ODB reader is there a good program I can run on an iPhone to check codes etc?

I have a feeling the ODB reader was not setup with the 2025's yet. When he hooked it up to my truck it said update required, I asked if that was for the truck, he said no the reader.

Document everything, dates, milage and symptoms, don't let them reset a MIL (check engine light) without them giving you a fault code.
I had a similar issue with a 2014 JKU. I had a copy of every CEL error and the milage, I took a photo of the ODO and the reader at the same time at that time I had a reader. I looked at the reader he had, and it stated right on it no code found. That is why I said go ahead and reset it. I figure I have a picture of it with the milage on the truck, along with date.

Document everything, take it in everytime, and make sure you get receipt. This kind of thing has been happening and recorded on other ram forums.

Mine did that twice. Both times falsely throwing two misfire codes. Both times they ran a new addition to the system and nothing has happened since.
Good Luck!:)

Mine has done it once in my 25 Laramie with the 3.0. It went away, You ought to see all the lights that light up sometimes telling my my trailer lights are not working, and then changing the distances for the vertical indicator on the left that has to do with the length of your whole rig with the trailer. And I have not even pulled a trailer with it yet! I took pictures, but no codes were saved.

This can happen if at the time OBD was read the fault was not stored and was not active.

Unrelatable CEL was a known issue with early vehicles and Ram issued a flash for this. It is associated with an intermittent overheat. The PCM software update should've been performed before they released the vehicle to you.

It actually comes with a program that's pretty decent.
