Solid leaf spring bushings

Gathering parts to make a set of 'caltracs' and found out that the front bushing when using caltracs is a solid aluminium one. This made me think why not swap out all the bushings for front and back leafsprings with solid bushings, wouldn't this improve the handling a lot? The lack of info I find through google makes me think it's not a good idea, just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

You could potentially replace them with steel eyelet bushings...

But talk about riding like a box of bricks. Yikes!

Yes, and the Caltracs bushing squeak like hell. They need a grease nipple somehow.

Don't know anything about it but I could probably turn some bushings down for you if you need them
