My new speakers should arrive today. Initially I had planned to pick up some 1/2" MDF to cut spacers for the front door speakers. I haven't taken off my door panels yet to see, but I assume the same clearence issue exists on the 2013 QC. But I was thinking, I should have some extra Dynamat, I could just build up a spacer with a ring or two of the Dynamat. This should work I think, but I wanted to hear if anybody has tried this, or if somebody coudl think why it wouldn't work or would be less than optimal.

Any input would help me out. Thanks.

It would be a waste of Dynomat, and depending on what kind, it's not very solid. I also prefer not to use MDF. MDF + water does not mix well. I used poly cutting boards -- cheap generic ones bought at WalMart. They are easy to cut, and are waterproof.
