Has anyone cut out their front door panel speaker grille to extend it 1/4"-3/8" to prevent the speaker from hitting it?

I installed a set of component Morel Tempo Ultra 692 MKII speakers with an Audio Control 4.800 DSP and it sounds absolutely amazing without any subwoofer so I won't be replacing the speakers. I had to 3D Print 12mm worth of spacers to get them to clear the window channel but now the speaker surrounds are touching the door panel which is going to wear the surround and it rattles like crazy. I plan on cutting out the speaker grille from the door and spacing it away 1/4" to 3/8" to clear the speaker but the challenge is that the door panel has a slight curve to it. A simple MDF spacer integrating the piece I cut out was the basic plan but the curve is throwing me off. Next up is some flexible ABS or Aluminum channel, maybe 1/2" by 1/8", that I can make a surround out of to insert the cutout plastic grille and pop rivet it to the door panel but I can't find anyone who has done a mod like this on the 4th gen Ram.

Any ideas?

That's a nice build thread, I came across it earlier, thank you. His panel is way more involved than I need with my 6x9's touching the panel.

I ended up 3D Printing some new honeycomb grills about 3/16" thick and cut out the door panel just outside the speaker surrounds so the cone excursion no longer strikes the door panel. I used Cyanoacrylate Glue to glue it to the door panel. The thin print, coupled with the relatively flat surface on that part of the panel, allowed it to sit flush. I'll screw it on with some very short screws and nuts if the glue fails on me but for now it's done!
