Who has changed spark plugs in the 5.7L 07 ram? I swear dodge makes it more and more complicated to do maintenance on these vehicles.

Amyway, I looking at the engine and trying to figure out how to change the spark plugs on the driver side without removing the brake booster. Who has done this? The one right under the booster is cylinder 5 on these 07 5.7L...not sure if it's this tight on other year model.

Use a couple of short socket extensions and piece them together on the way in, take them back apart on the way out. This is how I did it on mine and it takes all of 30 seconds to get that plug out.

Exactly what Justin said.. As long as the old ones aren't in there too hard, a short stubby ratchet works great. I used two 3" extensions I think? Something like that. I wasted time by taking the wheel well out to see if it was an easier angle, but it wasn't. Simply belly up to the radiator and lay down, it's a pain in the but but just think of the $500+ you're saving from getting it done at a dealer.

Quick story, I was behind a woman in line at the dealer after my wife's van got a contract-oil change, and she was quoted $589 for plugs on her 07 chrysler 300 C (Hemi)... so I was happy to hear that after I spent $32 on plugs and 2 hrs of work myself.

Whats funny is that it is way easier to change plugs on a 300 the booster is not it the way and the engine is not so far back in the bay.
I would belive a 500 dollar dealer quote for a ram but in her case she got shafted lol
