Spindle lift or suspension lift?

I have been trying to do a lot of research of lifts lately since I think I am going pull the trigger on it soon. While researching I seen how you can do a spindle lift that is 4.5" for the front and then get a block for back plus a level kit and that should be a 6" lift but yet your still using all your components so apparently the ride is smoother? First I have no clue if this is true so any input I appreciate. My next question is, truthfully what is better and the difference of these types of lifts?

I called a local shop by me who specializes in rough country lifts and quoted me close to $2k for lift/install/alignment. No clue if that is good or not.

Meant to also ask, would I still need to put a level kit on with the lift for it to be sitting properly?

I have a standard cab with a 6 inch suspension lift from rough country and was very easy to install in my driveway. It sits level without a leveling kit however I am looking to do a 2 inch spacer for 8 inches of lift. That's the only reason I am doing so

2.8k is what I was quoted for the 6 inch kit installation and ball joint replacement. I did it all myself for $1200 with purchase of new upper control arms, lower ball joints and lower control arm bushings, as well as new tiered ends... All from moog

Do you know what's better to do regarding spindle lift or full suspension lift? Also did you stick with the shocks the rough country or did you upgrade to a different kind? Guy at shop I was talking to was saying some people upgrade to skyjacker shocks for a little bit smoother ride.

I have the rough country shocks and it is kinda stiff but j drive 2 corvettes one of which has the magnetic suspension and I and ways have it on performance (stiffest) and the other a 1970 which has a little less engineering involved in it. 1 very stiff ride and another somewhat stiff. SSo it really doesn't bother me to much but I am looking to upgrade soon. I might go with fab tech dirt logic shocks if possible

As far as which is better... i couldn't vouche for a spindle lift since I never used one. The suspension kit I bought comes with a lifted spindle but it also changed the whole suspension. Personally I am more of if I'm going to do it I'm going to go big or go home. So I chose the whole kit.

I did the same on mine its a good kit the shocks r soso
