I am looking at programming options for my 2015 Power Wagon
It has the 6.4L. I was told the ECU is locked. Has anyone had any experience with programming these?
Basically what I am wanting to do is get the sports car engine software into the truck engine. I was thinking of trying to get it flashed or perhaps buy a new ECU and flash it with software for a charger or challenger and see what happens.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
The body I have at the dealership can't tell me if it will work or not so I may just have to try it, just don't want to fork out the money for a new computer if its not going to work.
Any feedback on this?

Truck has plenty of power for what I need. Would like to see the milage better. I figure if I can get the Hp up the milage will go down accordingly.

The 2015+ truck and car PCM's are encrypted so the solution is, regardless of how you approach tuning it, is to get a blank PCM.

One good option is to get this PCM and a tuner from Moe's Performance. Then you can get custom tunes done that will configured to your requirements, i.e., mileage, performance or even a bit of "beast mode" if you like.

I don't believe the SRT programming will work on the truck engine. The electronic and physical configuration of those engines is very, very different from each other.

Camshaft, intake, and exhaust are different, simply loading the SRT calibration in it isn't going to make it run like an SRT.

I think the best option here is to buy a blank computer and go with the custom tuning with a Diablo. Was just thinking if I could get away with buying just a computer and doing the car software (if it would even work) would save me from having to purchase a programer and custom tuning.
The more I think about it, custom tuning tailored to what I want is going to be the way to go.

Intake, exhaust and good programming will help the MPG. At least, that's been my experience on three HEMI powered vehicles with those mods.

The car PCM is completely different, so it will not work in the truck. What you need is the unlocked truck PCM, Diablo tuner, and custom tune package. That is going to get you more power, increased throttle response and driveability, and should get you an extra mpg or 2.

My last 3 trucks were diesels, the last one was a 2012 Ram 3500 which I modified up to around 700Hp. Guess I am just used to pulling with the diesel. Low end torque and pass everyone going up the hill pulling 15,000lbs lol

Your Ram 3500 was making 700 hp (not torque)? My ********* warning is going off.

Plus, you know a naturally aspirated gas V8 and a turbo charged I-6 diesel are completely different in terms of horsepower and torque, right?

You are very opinionated...haha.

It doesnt take much to get 700rwhp in a Cummins. My 07 5.9 made 606hp/1200tq with just a 64mm turbo, 90hp injectors, and a tune. These new 6.7's with EFI live are making 530hp to the wheels with the stock turbo and injectors. Diesels are no joke when it comes to aftermarket parts.

Obviously you never owned a diesel. I have had many. Im a diesel mechanic by trade. My 2012 ram was over 1200 lb/ft of torque and would blow the doors off most gassers off the line. Pretty much anything you could do the engine I did, down to shaving heads, head studs stainless steel high flow exhaust manifold, AFE intercooler and tubes, high flow intake, turbo smart blowoff valve, gutted intake heaters, 150hp injectors, 110 lb valve springs, high flow lift pump, 80% over dragon fire high pressure fuel pump, huge borg warner turbo, 5" TBE, and custom engine and transmission software. This was just the engine. Ladder bars were required to keep the rubber from jumping all over the place. Onboard air system to control the long travel air bags on the fly and so much more. This is what happens when you sell aftermarket parts and use your truck for advertising and put over 100 grand into the truck not including my labor...
So to answer your question, yes, I do know the difference between a gas and diesel engines. A diesel is much cheaper and better buck per horsepower than a gasser. Gas engines cost much much more to get half the jump in power you can get our of a diesel but this is getting a little off topic here.
Im interested in feedback on computer tuning on my 2015 power wagon, not discussing my past rides and what I may or you think I may not know about trucks...

I didn't buy another diesel because I wanted a power wagon. My last truck was as much of a power wagon as I could make it. Down to having a 12000lb winch and locking rear end. Nothing up front though. If I wanted another diesel I would have kept my old one or bought a new one. I didn't want the hassle for having no emmisions left on the truck and it would have cost too much to swap it all back on as nothing was original. They were starting to crack down more. but again were getting off topic

I talked to the programmers for the tuners and I you are correct. This cannot be done. A new PCM is also required to even use a programmer. Looks like this is the way I will be going.

I don't know what you'd be getting with an SRT computer anyway. At the end of the day, it is measuring and calculating the same things as the truck PCM. A custom tune will effectively do the same thing. If you just want the SRT head unit programming you can lock-pick the system. Personally I think gears, unlocked pcm, and a tuner is you best path short of building your engine. The transmission programming alone should really wake up the truck. Your milage will probably never get better.

My thoughts behind the SRT PCM was a cheap way to get more power and better millage. Basically bypassing a tune and getting the mapping out of a 6-700hp engine. I realize some parts and such may be different but was curious to see what it would do.
