Started truck this afternoon and noticed 8.4 radio screen didn’t turn on....

Hey guys, just like the title says, I noticed that when I was about halfway home just a little bit ago that my radio screen was black, and said “music off” on the instrument cluster.

Heater controls still work, heated seats, remote start, heated wheel... everything else works just fine but the radio. No screen- was actually connected to my phone via Bluetooth but no radio, and no voice control prompts from hitting the voice button on the wheel.

Is there a reset procedure on these things, or is it time to call up the dealer?

Well I guess never mind because I just went back out to the truck to check it and it turned on so, I don’t know what the hell, this is the first time it’s ever done that.

At first I figured there mighta been a Uconnect update or something but when I got in it before I came home, it never said anything about an update, I just didn’t notice until halfway home that my screen was black....lol.

Anyhoo, it’s workin now. Lol.

Well after researching how to do it and after pushing and holding the driver side temp up, temp down button and defrost buttons, it brought up a Dealer menu... after clicking on system information and then radio part information, says my software version 18.20.2e. Also went to driveUconnect.com and entered my vin, and it said there was no updates, if that helps.

Mine will do that from time to time. It usually happens with it is hot outside or if I plug my phone in before I start the truck. I just shut the truck off and restart. I'm running software version 18 as well

Mine sure didn’t yesterday. I pulled over once on my way home and shut the truck off to see if that would make it come back on but nothing happened. When I got home I tried it again and shut the truck off, and then turned it back on and still, radio wouldn’t come back on at all. So after about a half hour later, I went back out there and checked it out and the radio all the sudden turned on so I don’t know what the hell. lol.

Sometimes I have to shut the truck off and open the drivers side door for a second. I've also had mine lock up on me while driving. Radio still playing you could not change the channel or volume. The ac controls still worked. This only happens from time to time so I just live with it.

Well, that is a pretty complex computer just in that radio so I would think it would be just like any computer that it’s gonna run a little buggy at times.
