I did the bed step too. Had to remove some L shaped frame bracket to put it in.
Love it to death.

The moment y’all have been waiting for!!
I did some rust repair on the bumper bracket as well as replaced the hitch receiver which was trashed. Powdercoated the tips as well while I was at it. Needed a whole refresh of the rear end. I really like it so far. The steps are kind of small but to be fair I wear a size 14.

I put an AMP Research bed step on my 1500 about 3 days after I purchased it back in 2018. They make a dual exhaust version now as well. I work out of the back of the truck so it got a lot of use and is still perfect. Price has gone up, I think I only paid a little over 200. But it's a solid product.

By the way that aftermarket Ram bumper with the steps is nice, but this AMP Research step is so much easier to use. Especially getting out of the bed.
Yes, I looked at those as well, but I needed to replace my whole rear bumper since it was dented up pretty bad. With this I killed two birds with one stone. I love those amp steps too!

Dakota2020, you must have hit that pole pretty hard. You messed up the receiver as well as the stock bumper? New one looks great. Is it heavier metal than the original? Where made?

Well, the receiver was ok, it was just rotted out with rust. The Powdercoating was just peeling off.
The bumper itself seems a little thinner than the stock, but is still pretty solid and all the alignment pins lined up well. I used my original bolts because the ones that came with it don’t have the washers attached. We’ll see how everything holds up. For 300 bucks on an old 2012, it was worth it for me.
