Step It Up!

OK gang. I'm back with a different topic! I've had a 2002 Avalanche for 16 years, and one thing I really love is the built-in steps on the sides of the bumpers.

Now that I have a 2017 Ram 1500, no side steps. I know there are steps out there, but they seem to only be for trucks with a single exhaust. My truck has dual exhausts coming out the back.

What is everyone else using? I'm old and find it hard to get in the back without a step. Thanks wondeful people!

I just installed this bed step and really like it so far. It is built solid and has a beefy aluminum mounting bracket.Bonus it works with 5” exhaust tips also!!!

I just received today an oem style bumper with steps molded in just like the Chevy’s. I got if off of EBay. Mine is powdercoated black but it also comes in chrome. Just checked it out of the box and it looks awesome!
Been in the market for a rear bumper for a while since hitting a pole.

They also have the same design for rear sensors if you have them. Just have to read the description carefully.

Yeah, I was about to buy a pre-painted one when this one popped up in chrome. Dug a little deeper and found one in black Powdercoat. I’ll give it a go and see how it turns out. For 300 bucks, I thought it was worth the risk.

I put an AMP Research bed step on my 1500 about 3 days after I purchased it back in 2018. They make a dual exhaust version now as well. I work out of the back of the truck so it got a lot of use and is still perfect. Price has gone up, I think I only paid a little over 200. But it's a solid product.

By the way that aftermarket Ram bumper with the steps is nice, but this AMP Research step is so much easier to use. Especially getting out of the bed.
