Hey all - grabbed my 2017 RAM 2500 with the Cummins three weeks ago and have a massive screw through the sidewall. Was going to replace the tires and put an AEV lift down the road when I had the cash, but this gives me good reason to just do the tires for now.

Out of curiosity, will a completely stock RAM 2500 with the factory wheels, fit a 35" tire with the factory rims? I am putting a slide in camper in the bed and will be offroad, so can't have any rubbing or striking. Going to grab the Nitto Ridge Grapplers if so.

Thank you!

No. You will need ro go with a 285 or 295. I have 305/70 18s (basically a 35 10.50) with a 2.5 inch level and they do not rub but are very close.

I dont know for sure....but slide in truck campers are heavy so you'll have some squat to deal with. I'd say given that and off road camping its likely a no go...as said with no weight the fronts will run without spacers or a front level.

If your not ready for the level and the other tires are decent, replace the bad one for now.....

I have a 2017 ram 2500 hemi 4x4
I found a used set of 35x12.50r18 for a really good price. I was in the same boat you are
However my wheels are 0 offset 9 inch wide
I put those 35's on and kept them for a few months.
Thru turns and dips i would usually slow down and never once rubbed
When i had 4 people in the cab turning hard left in reverse it would rub
Those were ironman all country mt tires
When i had my new tires put on a 305/70/18
By mastercraft they measure 35.08 tall so i just had it leveled at the same time with a 2.5 leveling kit
Now they never rub

Yes. They will work. You will get minor scrubbing on the radius arm, thats pretty much it.

My 2015 ram 2500 cleared 35x12.50r18 on the factory wheels no problem. No lift, completely stock.

When I put aftermarket wheels 0 offset, needed a leveling kit.

I have the 35x12.50 Nitto ridge grapplers on the stock chrome 18" tradesman wheels, I have a 2" leveling kit but I'm pretty sure they would clear with no lift

Actually I was wrong. I get some rubbing on the radius arms depending on if I'm turning and going over a curb etc. Only does it every now and then. I can hear it and see a li little rub mark on the pain . That's with stock 18" wheels and leveling kit

Leveling kits do nothing for gaining tire clearances (unless they actually come with bumpstop drops, which pretty much none do).

With stock wheels, 35’s and even many 37’s will fit stock, with minor rubbing on radius arms and sway bar. Wheels with a bit less backspacing will get the tires out of those, but instead into the back of the fender when turning.

It’s all about the back spacing of the wheel, and what size tire you want.

Following--I've got a completely stock truck w/18's. Considering the Cooper AT3 XLT in either 285/75 or 295/70. The diameter on those are 34.8 & 34.3, respectively. Would like to avoid level kit (garage clearance) if possible. It sounds like the consensus opinion is these tires should fit w/zero rub. Stock tire size (275/70/18) are 33.2" diameter. Am I missing something?

I too have 295 duratrac tires on factory trims that have slight rubbing on drivers side front.
