Another gentleman brought his 2011 R/T with only a CAI to compare...he laid down 282HP and I can't remember the TQ. I'll find out though.

All dynos are different. Use them as a tuning tool and nothing more. You can't compare one set of numbers to another unless they're same dyno, same day. A small change in correction factor can net large differences in recorded output even then.

What RPM did you hit peak HP? That graph stops at 4800 rpm.

The one thing that I confirmed today is that the tq management is definitely what killed it at the track last night.
The power is right where I thought it should be given the mods, the ET and trap speed sure didn't show it last night though.
May have to try that pulling the ABS fuse thing....unless there's a good reason not to?

2 things you wil fight in these trucks and i've had 2 hemis and 1 SRT-10.......

Tq managment and Knock. sometimes a quite exhaust is better. The motor will make less noise. i'm going to try hemi fever tuning o see the diffencein tuners hopefully will report good things. alsoonce you'll be able to tune your 12 you'll be alot happier with it!

That is weird... Trup dynoed his at like 500 miles bone stock, and got 307 HP and like 310tq. Bolt ons are doing you good in the trq depo that is for sure haha.

307/331, it was on a dyno jet.

Unbroken, the reason yours is still low is most likely due to tuning. If you get a custom tune, or even a canned tune, you'll jump up prolly at least 30-40 HP/30-50 ft lbs torque. Truck just isn't set to accept those mods yet. So don't get discouraged buddy!

I don't get discouraged....not even close. And of course it was low...the speed density system can only correct itself so much...tuning has to do the rest. I dynoed then the other stock R/T dynoed right after...we were doing a comparison from a stock to a bolt on truck. He dynoed 282...same dyno, same day. I've been doing this for a really long time...this was just a baseline to compare my future mods to. There's too many kids that bolt on a CAI and think they got 25 hp....that ain't happening and I wanted data to prove it.
What was the CF on your runs? Air quality that day? Temp?

there you go ^

As I stated earlier and anyone that knows dynos will confirm....you cannot compare his numbers to mine even with the same dyno. It's not a relevant comparison when we're states away from each other in different air conditions. We compared a stock truck and it was 282 vs 307 with bolt ons....THAT is a relevant comparison.

I totally agree with you Unbroken...I've seen some high 14 sec to low 15 sec 1/4 mile times posted consistantly with stock trucks that have dyno'd higher where his is in the mid 14s.

Look at my dynos I've posted recently, they are pretty screwy, and I really couldn't get any good pulls without it acting funny on the top end (I'm sure it was the converter on the rollers). If you really take that jump out of mine it will tell you I only dyno'd 330ish rwhp.

Then look at my 0-90mph run I did back in April in 70 something degree weather vs the 0-120mph run I did this morning in 70 something degree run. You can clearly see I picked up 2 secs when comparing the two from 0-90mph and I'm sure I was much faster than stock typically putting down 290-310rwhp. I'm sorry but a 30rwhp isn't gonna drop your times that dramatically....What I'm I getting at is you take dyno numbers with a grain of salt because getting out there and running it on the street/track is what matters.

Here are the two vids I'm talk about for those who are curious

2011 Dodge Ram Hemi Crew Cab 0-90 Pull - YouTube

just curious where are you located Unbroken ??

could elevation also be causing you to be lower on the numbers ? also I do agree that added tuning will net you a clear gain.

This is an old thread...but I dyno at about sea level in Houston.
After that I added long tubes with high flow cats and a custom Hemifever tune and picked up like 65 HP on the same dyno. I don't think the numbers were low at all...they were representative of the dyno used and then air conditions that day. We dynoed a stock truck to compare...if you look at his numbers vs mine that day it's easy to see the gain above a stock truck is about what anyone could expect with nothing but bolt ons.

It's all irrelevant now anyway....I make my own air these days. LOL

Local dealer parts guy tried to tell me with the mopar cai he gained either 25 or 50 hp on his his chrysler 300..I laughed at him...Wasnt a happy man when i said he is full of **** and tried to explain that a turbo maybe but not just with a cai..Not enough air in the air box and not enough in the combustion chamber to make that kinda boost..
