curious to opinions, there is a 1996 ram 2500 with a v 10 i am considering buying., as i know this will be an " as -is " sale, i have to wonder
what would cause " loss of power" or to at least not " chirp" the tires or " light them up" when i put my foot to the floor?

truck has 160xx miles on it and is the HD automatic w OD

Do the rpms rise normal without the truck in gear? Does the truck feel sluggish and that is why you think there is a power loss or does the transmission feel like it is not fully engaging? My first guesses would be a clogged cat or a transmission failing.

the RPMs are normal when not in gear, the tranny only felt rough when shifting into reverse, when i had the truck into drive/overdrive and put the accelerator to the floor there was little to no response

Id tell them youll give them the asking price as long at it comes with a brand new INSTALLED transmission with full warrenty on everything. Otherwise, not worth it.

Need pics to better gauge value.

here are the pics they had, note, there is also a big hole in the dash plate ( 300 bucks on e bay) they covered it over with a dashmat lol,

Clean looking truck. Hole in the dash no surprise these dashes are brittle as all get out. Tires look really worn from what I can see. Front bumper looks sweet. Seems like a decent price if they put a new trans in it. Otherwise still no not worth it with a bum trans.

OK, guess i am going back and figuring something out then. thank you all for the support though i doubt this place will like what i have to say about the tranny issues, i was figuring offering them 2k as is
