stumped on getting sending unit back in gas tank

I took the sending unit out of my tank to replace the fuel pump . didnt pay much attention on how it came out . Now Im stuck on how does the float lever go in without binding on the inside of the plastic casing-- any help would be much appreciated -- 89 w 100- havent found a you tube video that is any help on this kind of set up

thank you for your reply - mine is a 89 but I guess its similiar for install -- mi ne just have like coil springs around the sending unit . Illustration does not have those

2nd Generation Ram were built
production ran from July 1993 to July 2001 for the 1/2 tons

2500 and 3500: Production ran from July 1994 to July 2002

I believe in 1998, there may have been a update

91.5+ sending units have the big plastic screw-down ring collar. No coil spring that I recall.

The 89-91 (the TBI years) are spring loaded with a v-band type hose clamp. My sender bodies are green plastic, but I believe some are red.

A ramcharger video for reference. Might help
