Hi everyone.

I had a quick question.

My truck lately hasn’t been starting up with full force as it usually does after I moved to high elevation. My last two attempts with remote starting it have resulted in it “dying” mid start up so I quit doing so. Not out of gas or have low voltage or anything. Temps haven’t been below freezing either. Whenever I start within cab it’s not as bad but does seem to have issues every once in awhile with starting up. After that it seems to run fine.

2015 ram 1500 5.7L 35K miles 91 octane.

I do have a custom tune. Any ideas? Just want to make sure I don’t do any long term damage.

dunno man cause I never lived in high alt, but I'd say good flowing air filter and tune up with new plugs for sure. Tune for 91 or 93 I guess, maybe tuner guys will chime in. who did you get tuner from? I'm sure they have a solution. if you havent done plugs yet since 2015, replace those will help.

You might try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. This will reset the adaptive memory in the PCM and might help it adapt to the higher attitude. It's worth a shot, plus it's free.

At elevation ? How high ? Iirc, folk in cColorado use a lower octane due to the thinner air.
