Going to start my own sub box tomorrow to hopefully fit a kicker COMPVR 12" in. Im not sure if it's going to be ported or not yet, but I can always add one in I've already drawn out the whole thing, and calculated volume at around 2.05 cu/ft. Hopefully the whole thing will sound as good as I want it to sealed, but if not then a port will have to be added.

2 cubes for a sealed box? That's HUGE!
I'm just a tick over 1 for my 10" solobaric.

Go hit up Brian at Innovative Audio and ask him to design ya a box.
He's got some trick software!

Actually it's going to be ported for sure. All my years of honors math have been spewing all over this thing just to figure out if it'll all fit together. By making it 32" long 13" deep 14" high, and with it being a wedge shape with a second top depth of 7.5" the whole thing will come in at about 2.04 cu/ft. Subtracting the port volume it comes to 1.975 cu/ft. The minimum/max ported volume for the Kicker CompVR12 is 1.75/2.25 cu/ft. My design is floating right in the middle of them so I think it will sound and perform pretty well for a one off design.

Making way, a bit of frustration due to inaccurate measurements. But it's coming right along.

All done now. Tomorrow she gets carpeted, local place is charging me 4 bucks per yard. I also tried to test fit it, and almost couldn't get it out haha! It'll be good for sure.

Thanks man, amp is already hooked up and mounted under my seat so it's staying there. It's a kicker ZX400.1

Well, stupid ass audio express wouldn't sell me the box carpet. I even called yesterday to see if they would, and one guy said yes, but today the man said a firm no! I'm pissed, I'm just going to order this **** on amazon tonight, at least I can get free 2 day shipping on that.

I won't ever give Audio Express my business ever again. They've been nothing but a continual pain in the ass to everyone I've ever known that dared go there.

I started filling all the screw holes on the box tonight. Rounded over the edges on the front face too. Looks pretty fancy.

I couldn't agree more, they suck. At least I wasn't being ignored while in the store though, I think I was asked if I'd been helped maybe 5 times. I might go to Intuitive Audio tomorrow to see if they can help me out, I'd rather not go on amazon if I can get this crap in town.

I know the nice thing to do his buy locally, but try Parts Express. I've never had a problem with them and they have everything you need at very fair prices!

I agree about Audio Express, although they seem to be better now than they were several years ago!

nice, I have my amp under the center seat of the bench. I just bought a new alpine amp. since my PowerBass 5 channel amp died within a year of getting it... I have been musicless for the past 6 months!!! :025:

Today after school I'm taking out my bench and installing my new amp as well as the 4 Gauges I bought, and my Fake alarm led. hmmm... I'm gunna be all wired up tonight... cant wait to have music again!
