Hey guys so i stuck 2 12's and an amp in my truck and am having a problem. As i increase volume on my radio my bass seems to roll off.Is there anyway of fixing this? I assume its the signal from the factory radio protecting the speakers but its annoying :(

What OEM sound system does your truck have? The Alpine?

Where did you pull signal from for your subwoofer amp?

THats what the alpine system does. Sucks if you start adding things to it. Also if you drop the treble and mid below midway the bass increases and decreases when you put mid and treble up towards all the way up.

Non-alpine system is the best way to go if your going to modify it.

I'm tapped into the high level output on the head unit which was there since my amp has high level input...would it make a difference to put a LOC in instead?? I know that can help with sound but will it restore the bass im losing?

I tapped my LOC off of the sub wire under the rear seat. So I already had a filtered low input.

That won't work.

The volume control is done through the amp, so if you want the volume of your subs to change you need to tap your signal after the OEM amp

So if i put the loc anywhere after factory amp, like tapping to my old subwoofer speaker like LB3711, it should work? Thanks

I'm not 100% sure.

As I understand it, the best way is to sum all your signals and then filter out everything you don't want.

Yes go after the amp, you will have to experiment where your grabbing your signal because it may only be that they attenuate the bass ouput at the sub, or if they do it to the speakers. I would start by grabbing the sub output, and see how that sounds, if your still having the issue I would go to a rear speaker.
Good luck

Grab your signal at the sub wire. I used an lc2i loc with accubass that will correct bass roll off, but i like the signal from the lc2i 's main output better than the bass output... more than enough bass for me... im aslo only running 1 10... since u have 2 12 s your probably looking for more.. Check out the lc2i...

If you have the alpine system the best place to tap for aftermarket subs is the sub output at the connector under the rear seat. Its always putting out no matter where the fade and balance is on the OEM radio.

Hello. First post and first Ram.

I just pulled the aftermarket deck, sub, and amp out of my old F150. I ran across this thread and was relieved that I'll likely be able to reuse in my 2015 1500. The new truck has the 10 speaker alpine with sub. I haven't heard it yet but assume that my Rockford Fosgate and 10" amp will sound better. It appears that I can use those with the factory system but I'll need to get one of these LOCs?

Is that it? Get the LOC, put it in between my aftermarket amp and the factory unit, and connect the remote wire from the LOC to the head unit.

It has to be after the alpine amp. Sub wires are best, to the loc, then to amp.. i used an lc2i and it sounds great..

Does anyone know if the non Alpine 8.4AN system has wiring anywhere under the rear seat to pull signal from?
