I’m trying to build power in a v10 and I know the stock 47re will break the second I add more power. My question is since the cummins and v10 share the 47re could I get a competition trans for a Cummins and use that or would I be better off buying a competition rebuild kit for the 47re?

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the front pumps for diesel and gas. All the hard parts should be the same (maybe all of it). I would talk to a reputable builder and see what they say about the rpm your v10 will turn compared to a cummins. Other than that the valvebody, billet shafts, accumulator pistons, etc are all the same. Be ready to break out your pocket book, billet parts are not cheap!
