Many homes have an “attached garage” which can be entered from the house, kitchen, etc. The entire house can be poisoned by an idling car in the attached garage. There is usually a manual door opener installed by the person door that enters the garage. Wouldn't someone open the garage door before getting in the vehicle?
There's nothing in a vehicle that stops it from starting while inside of a building/garage so why would manufacturers look at the home link from anything other than security and convenience.
(Of course, if remote-start is used…. the hot-wired Homelink wouldn’t perform protectively anyway.)
