Right? hats have to be off for the police who engaged this scab in one minute. This flag kinda looks like America right now? Fading away in the background but the blue line is trying to revive us. I'm sure we all can handle our own business on our dirt, but the fact is in public without these guys we are f'd. We could all act as our own policeman if needed, but that is a short painful existence in lawless lands. I'm proud today, the police did a great job, and that will have an effect on future shooters. This guy went to extreme effort, come on with fence cutter and following a creek, had a great tactical plan, but with all due respect to those killed, it was a lot less damage considering the effort. This will help police even plan better in open air events. We will get these fkers at the gate next time, I'm telling you.

It depends on the refrigerant and the quantities. We can still get R410A, but if you want to buy tanks then a lot of places want an EPA license number. You can still get the 28 oz cans, but they're stupid expensive. It's usually cheaper to find a local AC guy and just pay him on the side to recharge your units. If they have their own EPA license they can buy 410A a lot cheaper in tanks and quite a few of them will do cheap recharges on the side for extra cash. R134a is the same story, but luckily the cans are still plentiful at the local walmarts, parts stores, Amazon, etc.
Recharge kit are we after, he will start lokking for a "AC guy", thanks!

since they aint making it anymore you need to buy reclaimed, like 400 dollars a gallon or some **** like that. I think you can buy it off ebay, but like Josh said really expensive.
I did not know the R410a was discontinued.. Thanks

I was talking about the old stuff, I missed the r410, I think they still make that, not sure though.

Sadly it costs nearly the same as the discoed stuff. Just crazy.

R-410a is still available, but is R-22 which R-410a replaced that is in the final stage of being phased out, so don't be surprised if your home AC repair get outrageously expensive to fix. It will be a few years before the push to phase out R-410a will happen, eventually it will probably be replaced by R454B(it's mildly flammable just like R-1234yf, better make sure your homeowners insurance is up to *****).
The old stuff for cars is R-12, other than keeping a classic car completely original chances are any equipment that still use it are either still running, a museum show piece or found its way to the scrap heap

Dude, not mails, any commercial building. **** is way broke.

I get what youre saying and yes, it was available to offices, drive-ins, theaters, etc, but you did not have the same large scale accelerated depreciation, new construction, AND income as you did with a mall. These were the place's of the future, truely. From about '51 to '54 only about 50% of the 50 malls that had opened, were still open. These are large developments, +/- 90 acres; your typical, 1 or 2 two large department stores, 1 or 2 big supermarkets, and upwards of 30 other businesses. BUT by '56 25 MORE malls had opened- guess what year this act went in? Ironically, by the mid-80s (right up to the 40 year life span outlined by the act) congress let the act expire. Add in e-commerce and you get today's picture...

I'm so glad that malls are almost a thing of the past... Still have to go to one if I absolutely have to go to the Apple store for same day service on something around here, but that's it. Otherwise I'll gladly wait for my 1-2 day free shipping and avoid the hassle. I've never ever felt safe at the mall, it's large, enclosed, plenty of choke points, and a target rich environment. Some of our ritzy outdoor malls are better, but still too many people in one place for my liking. Situational awareness becomes taxing with that many random people around and I end up leaving all worn out.

R22 is no longer in production so it's ridiculously expensive, like $100/lb. So if you have an old home AC system that runs on R22, you better hope it doesn't spring a leak. Keep the condensing unit outside clean and keep leaves and stuff out of it. 410A is the replacement refrigerant but it's not compatible with R22 so you would have to replace the entire system. You can thank the EPA for that.

R134a's days are numbered. 1234yf is the replacement and again, it's not compatible with 134a. Oh and it's flamable. But it's less ozone depleting so hey let's switch all the cars over to it by the early 2020s[emoji106]

Again, thank the EPA for that.

You can get by with replacing the evap coils and the condenser, but at that point yea new unit time. Only plus side to 410A is it is a lot more efficient, but yea replacing a whole system cause EPA sucks. I wouldn't be so butthurt about 1234yf if they would wait until the damn patents on the refrigerant expire BEFORE forcing that **** down our throats. Getting 1234yf is so expensive because you can only get it from Honeywell or Chemours.

lol amazon will kill the malls. Teach your children well, idiot jobs are going byby.

This is 100% the truth. I was tempted to go work for Lex Luther as the salaries for engineers are high, but you work like 60+ hours a week furthering his quest for world domination. You're pretty much a very well paid indentured servant so I passed.

At the last job some of us were looked upon as agents of the devil since we wanted to automate all the copy/paste "engineering" so that engineers could actually spend time doing meaningful, thoughtful work. That didn't go over well with the Id10t's that only learned enough to copy/paste their way to a mediocre role with a mediocre paycheck. Those same "engineers" are now being replaced by people in Mexico and India who will do the same **** poor job copy/pasting for less than 25% the cost and less benefits. Had they actually bothered learning how to think they could make more and not be at risk of replacement, but their loss. When I rage quit as one of the highest paid guys in the department there were some rumors and what not from those same people... Now I make 20%+ more working for a small shop that makes far better margin's, doesn't tolerate that mediocrity, and only does value added work.

Moving forward there are only going to be two kinds of jobs in this country that pay... either working in the trades or actually working with your brain. That in the middle do nothing work is rapidly being replaced by machines.

Tailgate cover done!

This thing is KICK ASS. I am working off my tailgate basically daily. So having a nice flat surface to work on is absolutely amazing compared to trying to work on the OEM surface. 3-1/2 years of working off OEM surface makes me truly appreciate this.
On top of that my tailgate is getting a bit smashed in. This will hide that and prevent more damage.

(.105”) 12ga304 Stainless. The tailgate closes with the vise attached. HAD to break her in with some bar tuning and chain sharpening[emoji16]

Down side is the added weight. I’ve had the cover on for two days now. Honestly it is not bad. But i knew what i was getting into before i did this. Going to put 2 of the DeeZee tailgate assists on it. With the sheet metal, .25” mount for vise and vise i added almost exactly 60.25lbs to the tailgate [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. The thing is very sturdy [emoji15]

That is bad ass right there. I just broke the plastic top **** the other day on mine getting out of the bed so gotta order one of those at some point... If my truck wasn't already fat enough for a half ton I'd be looking at doing something like that.

Edit :
On the bright side my wheels will be here tomorrow and the 3 out of the 4 tires have arrived down at the CO-OP. Changed my plans after seeing 315/70R17 Open Country M/T's were cheaper than the Coopers by a good bit. Only a load range C since they're Raptor spec, but it's a half ton so yay for a cushier ride. Hopefully I'll have them on the truck by Friday assuming I can find time. If not Saturday when I get back from taking another certification test they'll be going on the truck!
