I couldn't find HPL on Amazon except for Royal Purple re-branded (?) HPL. @Travis8352 website = Advanced Lubricants does sell HPL, but HPL doesn't list them as an authorized dealer. Then HPL on their own site says you can buy direct. WTAF is going on, here? A bunch of engineers and chemists trying to market products?

Edit: there are two websites using HPL in different forms. The one discussed here is hplubricants.com in Illinois. The other one is HPLoil.com in Indiana. Apparently some trademark hijinks going on. The Illinois site is the one we've discussed - and Advanced Lubricants IS their nearest Distributor, as @Travis8352 noted earlier. Sorry for confusion - I hate software.
ok, I'll see, maybe they dont sell on amazon?

Hemiman take the wheel man, we ran it off in the ditch.

One thing I don't prefer about HPL is the name, easily confused with redline HP line and RP.

From HPL faq section, so on point.

The more Zinc the better. True or False?
This is not always the case; there are several factors to consider when talking about Zinc (ZDDP) in motor oil.
While Zinc (ZDDP) is a good way to add anti-wear to the oil chemistry, it’s not the only available option. Most oil manufacturers choose Zinc because it’s the most cost effective way to increase anti-wear. Some forms of Moly offer superior protection over ZDDP and are a great substitute. Therefore, using Moly in conjunction with ZDDP is a far more expensive method to create anti-wear. HPL synthetic oil is engineered using a perfect balance between Zinc, Moly and detergents regardless of the cost. Offering a superior protection is our #1 priority.

Just found this thread. I ordered their "Standard" PCMO 5W20 for my 2020 5.7 etorque since the additive strategy is the same across the Standard/Premium/Premium Plus lines. Supposedly all of their oils are long-drain capable. At least according to HPL, the main advantage of the Premium Plus (vs. Standard) is the cold-temp performance of the PAO....which I do not need for my climate. So I saved the $4.37/qt ($11.38 vs $15.61 shipped) and went with their Standard 5W20.
Yes! They actually say their longest drain oils are group 3 with ester and ANs! Their 10w20 is intriguing for someone not needing cold temp performance! 8cst high quality group 3 with ester and AN and zero VIIs!

Yeah a lot of 5w20's no vii's such is the case with redline-per dave. I would be more surprised if 10w20 had vii's.

This is their PAO/POE/AN version with the same ad pack. The one you posted is group 3/POE/AN

See tbn decrease and viscosity increase with every test same oil, 5w20 not only doesn't shear any vii's cause it doesnt have any, but increases in viscosity. First test 5k miles, last test 25k miles and he tested about every 5k miles or give and take. Compare that to the 0w40 I posted a few pages back. At 26k mile interval, 5w20 is thicker then 0w40? lol..?

Fluid Condition
TBN12.37.35.053.9852.85
Viscosity8.89.19.49.5610.6

That oil was their 5w20 HDEO based on a CI-4 add pack and they make their improvements on that. Not sure on base oil composition myself. The oil did rather well. It may have best been changed after the 3rd uoa that was done. HPL stated that this was their best oil in 2019 and they have made big improvements to their additive chemistry since then

Also quite impressive this was nearly a 2 year interval!!

Yes. There's a 15% off coupon floating around on that other oil site. At least for me in CA, ordering two 4-gal cases was the "sweet spot" due to the cost of shipping.
