Blackstone says insoluble = oxidation, but other labs have a quantity.

Picked up a case of Redline 5W30 this week. Going to switch from PUP 0W40 with 20oz of Lubegard to this next change.
I think the PUP 0W40 was $16 ish CAD a quart last time I bought some plus the 2 10oz bottles of Lubegard that were about $30.00 CAD so moving up to Redline at $19.42 CAD a quart actually was cheaper. $142 vs $136. Look at me saving some money.
I haven't had to go looking, still have a couple RP filters laying around, that i bought awhile ago, have both 30-8A's and 20-820's for the cars, lolYou guys finding any filters up there? Royal Purple and Fram Ultra? Amazon / Summit Racing / Rock Auto
Where did you buy it Shaun? Mopac or JB'sPicked up a case of Redline 5W30 this week. Going to switch from PUP 0W40 with 20oz of Lubegard to this next change.

Not sure where to put my baseline Blackstone report. Drove 7500 miles on a first run of Red Line 5W-20. Attached is the report. Not sure why the calcium is so high or if it matters. This is my first oil analysis.
Add tbn if you want to take advantage of what that calcium does for you, gives you a longer interval. It is rare the first report looks that good, looks like your truck is a winner, like ramfinni said. Find a good filter and double that interval and get tbn and see where you are at. It's like tossing out 100 bucks using redline on a half interval. You are out of warranty? That 5w30 formula adds that butter smoothness, not that you need it with a truck running that good. But in phoenix I'd rock 5w30.Not sure where to put my baseline Blackstone report. Drove 7500 miles on a first run of Red Line 5W-20. Attached is the report. Did a google search, is that for Diesel engines? Is that the same additive?Add tbn if you want to take advantage of what that calcium does for you, gives you a longer interval. See how new I am to this? I have more reading to do on these threads.TBN is a test you pay 10 bucks for at blackstone, it sets your oil change interval. CA is a level, but tbn tests active calcium, which allows the lab to tell you the safe interval. CA is constantly denaturing in the combustion process, at some point it may read high but it isnt doing it's job at neutralizing acid. You need an "active" CA reading = tbn.
