T-stat question

Is it highly recommended to have a 180 T-stat with a tuner or is it just something some people do...I've noticed not everyone does and curious if it's worth the effort and why it would make a difference with a tune...did a little research and nothing really came up definitively.

The 20 degree difference helps lessen the chance of knock, thus pulling timing and reducing power. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's just one more thing to help squeeze as much power as possible.
