I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8 Inch for use in my 2013 Ram. It fits resting on the steering column and leaned up against the speedometer plastic perfect without any modifications at all. I ran a usb changing cable to the area.

I run waze on the tablet which is an application that tells you well in advance where radar traps are or breakdowns. Waze shows you a map of the road you are on as well as traffic. The tablet can be seen thjrough the streering wheel.

If I am not running waze I run the Ulysse Speedometer app.

This works for me your mileage may vary.

I have a iPad mounted on a cup holder type mount in the center arm rest. Very handy, a quick glance at the google maps and I can get a pretty good idea of were traffic problems may be. Waze is unreliable in this area, especially now that one can get a ticket for distracted driving trying to report interesting events. I've completely given up on it.

Haven't really seen this happen much in nearly two years of using the app. As a higher-ranking user, my inputs basically override existing reports so, if I get an alert about something that isn't really there, I just hit the "not there" button and it is immediately removed from the map. So, even if a cop were playing that game, there are enough folks like me (high-ranking users) on the road to make it a pointless game. ;)

It's not really easy to do this. The app uses input from users and tracks there location. An officer can't report a speed trap without being there. If he reports one while he is there then leaves, the app will automatically remove it if no one confirms it and/or someone explicitly stated it's not there.

On long trips, I stream Waze to my 8.4 screen using a LockPick Air v2 or have a good copilot with the App open.

The LockPick air v2 allows you to stream your phone screen wordlessly to your 8.4 radio. You can't touch the screen, you still have to use your phone, but you can display it on the dash.

You can also add cameras and other A/V sources. I have a total of 5 cameras and a digital TV tuner on it.

Thanks. I looked it up. kind of pricy @ $449 unfortunately I'm an iphone user and it states I can't use it if I'm running iOS 9 or higher.

You can, but you'll only be able to stream video files using a third party app. It is pricey, I'd wait to see if CarPlay and Android Auto get released for older 8.4 with the 2017 firmware update. Or try to find one at a good price in the classifieds on this forum.

Edit: or you could connect Apple TV to the LockPick.

driving also only with Waze. The tablet i have in a cupholder.
Built in a wlan-modul from cruxinterfacing. Allows you to mirror the screen from your tablet (or phone, but bad quality) via airplay or miracast.

Of course, you can also mirror every website and video on the screen.

click on "Manual", open the pdf-file. On page 2 you can read the answer.

Yeah I did that yesterday, not a lot of info but it looks like HDMI and RCA (one each). I was wondering what all of the separate modules were for.
