Tailgate remote lock actuator

My tailgate recently stopped locking and unlocking when using the remote. Anyone happen to have the part number for a new actuator? Is it the same actuator as used in the Rambox? They look pretty similar, just seeing if anyone else knows if they are the same.

If you use one of the online parts look-up vendors, the part is called: “control unit - door”.

Does the tailgate latch lock when you manually push the interior door-lock button?

No, any use of the automatic locks no longer work. I can hear it try, but it won’t make the stroke. Only way to lock and unlock now is to use the key.

Before you spend any money,unplug the connector under the tailgate,and give it a look over,if you have any handy give it a spray with contact cleaner,then plug it back together,and see if the lock works .Sometimes the ground side of the connector gives a bit of static.You're not out anything to try it first

I am curious about this as well because my tailgate quit locking a few months ago. I pulled the access panel and it seems to be bound up as it won’t lock/unlock even when using the key.

While you're back there checking wires, check for voltage at the connector (could be a fuse)... :favorites13:

while its opened up , can you manually lock, unlock it, could be its rusty/ dirt build up.
WD40 it and work it by hand and as others have said check connection, voltage.
Will it work with the tailgate down ( no load on the latches)

open the tailgate access panel

use the remote as you watch the mechanism
even slip the red clips off, the ones that hold the log rods in place

Use Lubrication

It may not be the lock at all, it may be the rods that go from the locking mechanism to the outside of the tailgate sides

as mentioned, check the electrical connectors
