Has anyone tapped in to the existing cargo lights and added extra LED's in the cargo area? Any tips?

I got these strip lights on Amazon for $28. Tapped into the power wire of my trailer plug behind the bumper.
Self-stick, pre-wired with a switch.

Chech this guy's you tube vid. I hooked up Mopar Cargo lights on my '13 Power Wagon this way. (had to drill holes to mount these in the proper spot on a '13). Under the driver side kicker panel you find this bundle of wires. Carefully separate and sneek out a white wire with brown chaser stripe. In my truck there were 2 of this color. I used a checker light as Jack recommends to stab the wires and push the cargo light button to find out which one gave me power. I spliced in there and now my add on lights work with the cargo lights in the 3rd brake light. I didn't use any additional fuses and it works fine. This should work with other LEDs as well. Don't need the OEs like I did, but it was nice to have the premade wire harness.

I already have the OEM bed lights. I'd like to tap in the existing wires from those.

Sorry I don't, but they light up the whole bed like daylight.
My driveway is right under a street light so night pics are tough & not allowed out after dark in my town for now.

I'll go look. I would like something like that. This will be my first truck with tonneau. I normally run cross box but this truck is too tall for that and I have a plan for the box on my trailer. So tonneau and chest toolbox!

Sorry, thought you were talking about the OEM cargo lights on the 3rd brake light. I'm sure you could daisy chain a loop off of the wires leading to the OEM cargo lights.

I used the cargo lights to power a relay and have 6’ led strips on both sides of the bed attached to the tonneau cover rails.lights the bed up like daylight.
