That time of year again...what would be a great tires for 2015 sport crew

Hey all as winter approaches with ice, rain, snow and some good days....what do you all consider great tires for these conditions and would they be good also for summer months or not. Of course I swapped out the wranglers asap in 2015 when I got the sport crew cab 4x4. I bought coopers zeon and they are great but not so in the wet roads or slick icy and snow. I'm going on 80,000 km with them still good tread. I actually put 2 new ones on in back 2 years ago but still not so great in winterish weather. I had cooper I think discovery on my 2012 and they were fantastic but didn't wear well at all. I think I got 45,000 Km on them. I'm looking at the KO's but no one I know has them around me to find out if good in winter and what wear they are like. I don't tow and usually just a lot of tools in back of covered bed. Again ty for any input on tires for winter conditions around my part of the woods from those that might be in similar conditions. Take care

Probably about a million threads already about this, and you'll probably get just as many opinions from people on here as well. I've run bfg ko and ko2's and currently have falken wildpeaks, not sure on longevity yet but in terms of year round performance they seem very similar to the bfg's but I got the falkens for about $75 less a tire.

In summary though, pretty much any all terrain with snow rating will be better than your average tire that comes on these things and IMO perform fine as a road tire for the rest of the year.

Thanks I see the other threads even newer ones got a lot of replies. It's just that the cooper zeon i bought almost 5 years ago were great in rain and snow. I had to replace 2 of them in the back after a rear end accident and these 1 yr old ones completely suck. I almost went off the highway yesterday when truck shifted gears when I was about 70 kms speed so far. These newer 2 rear tires slide at the slightest on a start up or turns now straight away is a scary thing. They must have changed the compound of the tires now I'm thinking so they last longer? They haven't been in oils or such. I've also on a nice day did a burn out to maybe refresh the tread lol. Still slippery as hell. Again ty for the reply I'll just have to drive granny style till I find more real reviews in my climate. I'm afraid to take my children in truck anymore. It's very concerning as I live my truck and use it for everything.

Yeah if they are performing that poorly I would move on from them, as you said it's a safety thing especially with having kids (whether they are in there or not, they still need parents so of course your safety is very important too). Maybe since those tires are still fairly new they could be sold to help pay for some new tires. I've never had cooper zeon's so I can't speak to their performance. However, I ran bfg a/t's for the longest time but when I was going to purchase my last set, I started hearing and reading things about a quality decline and probably some change of material/compound as well on them, and a decreased overall life span. Have seen that happen with different tires over the years, they go from favorites to outcasts. I came across the falken wildpeaks and couldn't find anyone with anything bad to say about them, and as I mentioned previously they were much cheaper.

I'm surprised you didn't get more responses, usually these type of threads blow up with endless responses. Although, sometimes that just makes the decision more difficult. Good luck with whatever you choose, I know it's not a good time of year for extra expense but if you use your truck that much it's worth the investment.

May be worth trying some weight in the bed. Also, I siped my last two sets of tires which helped immensely in the winter. I'm not impressed with the longevity of last couple sets of Coopers.

My Cooper AT/3's are getting a little scary in wet and snow at only 22k miles. I will not be purchasing these again. My father-in-law has the Falken wildpeaks on his Ram and they are wearing very well. They look aggressive but are not noisy and great in snow. Most likely my next tires.

I put the Faulken's on my truck at 4k and I'm at about 28k now. They have been good, but they don't seem to be lasting that well. I monitor my tire psi and get a alignment once a year too.

My Cooper AT3 4S preformed flawlessly in our most recent ice storm and with 7 inches of heavy wet snow. Also very good on dry and wet pavement. Can't speak for longevity yet. I have never owned the big ko, but have told they are good in the winter also.
