The black vinyl on the doors

I know some folks remove this, but today I noticed the driver door one is not level with the back door, one sits lower than the other, looks stupid LOL. I guess that means time to remove them?

I took mine off right after getting the truck. I much prefer the painted pillars instead of the cheap looking vinyl. Easy to take off at least, I did it in -15 without even warming them up and it was still no problem.

Lol that's funny. I just added them to mine because I like the blacked out look with my tinted windows. Guess it just depends on personal taste.

Oddly enough, my truck didn't have them from the factory. Maybe because its black?

Personally, I'm happy they're not there.

mine has them and they are drying out and peeling away. I like them because it blends my tint between the windows. Im planning to dip it I can replace it if needed

My '13 Express in Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearlcoat doesn't have them.

My guess is it's a trim level decision, and that lower levels may not have it. No digs, just economics. Regardless if we find the look desirable or valuable, it costs Dodge more money to buy the material and install them than to leave them off.

What I find funny is I have a '14 Sport which skips the chrome and gives me painted front and rear bumpers (more $$) for a nice monochromatic look, but then has the black vinyl which kills what they just worked to accomplish on the bumpers. LOL

As someone else noted, I have dark tinted windows all the way around and it doesn't personally bother me as it all blends together. But I can see how others may not like it that run lighter tint or no tint at all. Of course, I find it sacrilegious to have a vehicle without limo tint so my opinion may be a bit tainted.

Express and Tradesmen trucks do not have the pillars blacked out. The other trim levels do unless you have a black truck.
