You can't really see it in pics, but the paint on my truck kinda sucks... There's some spots on the door and the bed rail. Also running along on the sides. So I've been thinking about getting a paint job. Just called Macco and they said they are running a special right now of $300 to totally repaint the truck. I would like to get something done and make it shine :D What do you all think?

From what I have heard all they do is rough the paint and spray. So the paint will suck worse. Don't know for fact though.

When I was 16 I got a Maaco paint job. That cheap job.......is for a single stage paint - and it lasts for about a year - then it looks like ass. Its great for painting a farked up car and selling it though. :D

Exactly Jeremy. Some one did that to my truck before I bought it. It now looks like ass.

If you want to paint the truck, do it right and have the factory paint blasted off and have the body looked over. Also, spring for a two stage cover min. It should cost around $1200-$3000 depending on how far you go.

Like said it is single stage and everytime you wash your truck and dry it you will wipe off paint.

My experience is that good paint is expensive and good body work done right even more expensive. Depending how you use your truck and if you wanted to do it as cheap as possible I would consider buying the equipment, preparing and painting it yourself. It wouldn't be any worse than one of those super cheap jobs plus you would have the equipment when finished. Good luck...

Only if he has the area to do it right. If we're talking a concrete garage that he can plastic off and do this the right way, then it might be an idea. If all he has is a spot under a tree outside then no.

That sounds good, I'll have to make sure we're not doing anything but that would be a plan. What's the best place to get some paint?
