I personally don't like the cover and it's hanging on my wall.
It's a heat trap, and to me it just masks the HEMI too much.
To each their own :)

My Tundra was a compression fit, pressed into grommets. I believe the Ram is the same because even though my '21 came without the cover, you can see the receptacles.

.
Compression up to 2018. 2019, compression fit in back, (2) screws/bolts front to attachment points

Why do we need noise reduction for large gas engines that aren't working that hard most of the time, mostly bought by guys that don't care to pay extra for under-hood style parts?

You answered your question when you asked it. Yes it serves a purpose! It is put there to make it look nicer to most people, that is it's purpose! EVERY Model T was available in any color ( according To Henry Ford) as long as you wanted black. That is the purpose of the different colors.

Personally I think they look nice. However all they do is hold in heat and as @RamDiver mentioned they provide a place for mice to build a nest. I pulled mine off and its hanging over my work bench.
There is a sound deadening pad on the underside, at least the ones I've seen.

The comment about getting cats to keep the mice off the engine was funny to me because my engine cover constantly has cat paw prints on it from the cats laying down on the engine for warmth.
I always have what I believe are squirrel paw prints in my engine bay.

I once heard a rather tumbly noise on a cold start in the fall, went under the hood and Chippy met the fan with rather unfavorable results.

I'm sure the carnage left on the driveway signaled other critters to stay away from the big blue truck as I never had an incident afterwards, nor little critter prints under the hood.

Is that the legmaker mid tube? How do you like it?
It is, indeed. The Lekmaker midtube also includes the IAT extension. It works like a charm and has improved flow.

I have it coupled with the 6.4/EcoDiesel lower air box and air intake horn mod and its associated MOPAR air filter, too.

I also removed that little charcoal pad on the top side of the factory air box lid/cover, and plugged the opening to the connector with a rubber cap (removed the line from where my breather filter is located at the oil fill to the air box lid), and added on a blue K&N breather filter.

I also installed a FastMan TB and that woke things up a tad, too :)

Edit - I have worked with Chris of Legmaker for many years now and have had his products on every MOPAR I've ever owned.

Many I know here in Canuck-Land also use his products exclusively. It is functional art!

I did several group buys back in my LX Forum days with LMI.

Y'all convinced me, I'm taking mine off.

I may have missed it in this thread, is there a step by step for removing it or is it literally just unbolting a few screws and popping it off?

On the 4th gen(2009-2018 & 2019 - 2023 classic), all you gotta do is remove the intake tube, then just lift it off. Then reinstall the intake tube. 1692754196485.png

On the 5th gen(2019-current) there are 2 bolts, 1 on each side. 1692754177659.png

My classic unfortunately came without this beautiful cover. Have not experienced any rodent or heat affects to my 2500 with the cover. Looks nice in my opinion. Also hemis don’t fail so why remove it… right? You guys are setting a bad precedent for new members.

Whoever in south Louisiana is willing to part with it for free, I will gladly take possession.

Like the mods U did there ref air flow, looks nice. One of these days I need to at least get a Catch Can, but my truck is a Driveway Princess and is parked 98% of the time.

So I just removed mine, good news no sign of rodents!

But I didn't notice any change with respect to sound or heat unfortunately. Still sounds the same and gets just as hot. Will probably leave it off for now.
