I desperately need some advice and some answers please! I bought a 2007 ram 2500 4x4 megacab. The motor was locked up, I got a killer deal on the truck. Anyway I went and purchased another 5.7, but out of a 2015 ram. My main question is do I have to delete the mds for it to work? The truck was originally non mds and the new motor is. So can I just leave the plug for the solenoids hanging or do I have to get the delete kit?

Firstly let me apologize if this is on here twice. I posted it earlier and evidently I was in the wrong place and they moved it and now I can’t seem to find it. But anyway I recently purchased a 2007 ram 2500 4x4 5.7 hemi with a blown motor. I then purchased a 5.7 out of a 2015 ram 1500, and I know I should have been patient and got the right year but hindsight is 20/20, so that ship has been done sailed! My question is do I have to buy the delete kit for the msd or can I just leave that plug to the solinoides hanging or what? I’ve done changed the heads, intake, and all that so will it work? I’ve also read something about the crank being different, is there something there that’s going to hinder me? Thanks in advance!

Hence my response. If "that ship has sailed" as you put it, then you're pretty much screwed and that ship is up ****'s creek LMAO, hence my initial response of "Little to no research on this one lol?" No I'll tell you why.
You have a 2007, you bought a 2015 5.7....let's start with pictures, as most of the population seems to respond better to pictures...
Your stock engine:

The 2015 engine you think is gonna work in your truck lol:

Should I go any further or are you interested in the technical aspects?

Joel, sorry for you. But what HemiLonstar is saying is what I also researched and found. My tech shop is closed. CV19. But the owner is a personal friend. I talked with him this morning. He is our local Ram Hemi expert. He said, you are in for a huge expense and frustrating mods to get that 2015 Hemi running properly in your 2007. These are two very different engines. "You might as well have bought a Ford Coyote and try to install" (he can be a a..h...)
What he suggested. Sell the 2015 now. Either determine if you 07 5.7 can be rebuilt or his first choice,,,go on line find one of the exchange companies that offer a 36/36 warranty and order. You will be money ahead and have a quicker usable end product for your money and time. Good luck Joel
