Thanks for the clarification. So which manifolds are we talking about exactly 6.1 or 6.4? And are these from a car or jeep?

Something like this could pass California emissions me thinks

That price is steep but if you can find them cheaper obviously it could be an option.

I wonder how much modifications are needed to fit these? Looks like a solid option to those who are in these areas and limited to whats legal. Appreciate you putting this out there. I went with shorties myself but would of considered these had i known.

Never had throttle hang even with spraying nitrous before the throttle body, but my Fastman did $h!t the bed a couple years ago.Wasn't any differance at the track by going back to my original stock throttle body.I ran the Hellcat throttle body on the wifes 6.4 equipped 1320 Challenger with a baby 50 shot, and it didn't gain squat either. That was even with the adapter being port matched to the manifold and a ported intake manifold with the complete Hellcat airbox. The stock throttle body will handle a fair bit of power before it needs to be upgraded.
If you're naturally aspirated i wouldn't be in a huge rush to swap out the stock throttle body on a 5.7,even with a big cam

I tried 2 different 87mm MMX throttle bodies and I even have a 90mm on it now and all 3 of them give me a throttle hang at around 1500rpm coasting until I come to a complete stop.

That sounds like a tune issue more then anything if it's happening with 3 differant TB's

That's the thing, I'f I install the stock TB I have no throttle hang. It's only with a larger throttle body.
Also, a small note....
Even though its overkill on a 5.7, you can get 90mm throttle bodies now that are bolt on for around $100 on Amazon. These same throttle bodies are being used by some "Named" performance companies that are engraving their name on the side of the TB that has a flat spot and the throttle plate and then reselling them for twice the price. I know from experience as I have one right now that's costed me $269.72 plus tax and shipping and I can get the same 90mm TB off of Amazon from the same original manufacturer from anywhere $56.99 to $117.99.
Of course the 90mm won't work properly unless you have a ported intake as the stock truck intake for a 2016 only has a 82.5mm opening. You can obviously see the size difference once you set the throttle body on the intake as you can see how much smaller the intake port is. I purchased a $20 95mm to 85mm throttle body adapter to get installed of course the intake would still need to be ported a little bit. So if you get the $57 90mm throttle body and the adapter plate you have less than $80 invested into a TB upgrade Vs "Name" suppliers selling the same thing for double if not triple the cost.
The Amazon 90mm throttle bodies look like assembled cores for manufacturers to purchase then they machine the flat surface and engrave there names on it and then resell them at twice or 3 times the cost.
As for a bolt on, this 90mm throttle body works out of the box, but I still have the same throttle hang issues but I found that the throttle hang might have something to do with an Evap controller causing additional added airflow on my truck.
So off topic, if someone is looking for an overkill TB upgrade you can get 90mm 5.7 Hemi throttle body off of Amazon for around $60. You just got to remember that your intake manifold only supports unto 82.5mm so you will need to modify it a little bit so there is no flat ridge restricting the airflow from the larger throttle body....

You couldn't give me one of the aftermarket 90 mm throttle bodies,as they all have a crappy rep. Unless you're boosted the stock throttle body flows more then enough air.The trucks use the exact same 251 casting throttle body as the 485 horse 6.4's use,and even on a 6.4 the throttle body is the last thing you upgrade after doing cam / ported heads /long tubes etc. I ran a Hellcat throttle body on the wifes 1320 Challenger, and it was on a ported intake with a bunch of time spent making sure the Khaos adapter was smoothed and matched the ported intake mouth of the manifold, and all it did was lighten my wallet and cost me about 6 hours of hand porting to make sure everything was a perfect match, car didn't gain anything at the track. Just why are you hung up on a bigger throttle body, exactly what mods do you have

Sounds like you have answered your own question.....stock TB is good.....larger TB is junk.
Wasting your money on a larger TB......same stock TB on the 6.4 rated at 485hp & 475 ft-lb torque.
Your 5.7 is no where near that unless heavily modified.

You also have the half-shaft T/B which I've heard around the campfire at full throttle goes to 86mm. I like the looks of that half-shaft but all I have are the usual bolt-ons and the locked ECU so I would guess there would be no gain for me.

My point was if anyone is looking to put a larger throttled body on the 5.7, don't waste your money on $300-$400 name brand ones, you can get a cheaper option using an Amazon 90mm $60 TB and a Ebay $20 90mm to 85mm adapter. This way if you want to play trial and error you can save money going this route Vs spending double if not triple the price for a larger TB. Personally there was not much of a difference for me based on data logging between using an 87mm Vs a 90mm other than the "Name" brand ported 87mm throttle body costed $300 and the cheap 90mm costed less than $100. I'm happy with the way my truck handles using E85, the 90mm with a tune as I get 25mpg highway with MDS off and average around 17mpg and still have the get up and go when needed. Also based on data logs with the stock TB I hit 109KPA at 6124rpm cruising 80mph using a Vararam intake Vs the 90mm with adapter cruising 80mph at 6069rpm with 112kpa using the Vararam intake. The numbers may be small but 109kpa equals to 1.1psi of boost and 112kpa equals to 1.54psi of boost at 80 mph using the Vararam intake.
So the increase is small but it still is an increase but much cheaper than purchasing name brand TB's at $300-$400......

PS - And yes my truck gets those MPG's using E70 as tested......
