Weird? Mine was pretty straight forward... Soon as I connected the rear camera.. it showed up like pip on the front.

I was thinking of taping constant power from the glove box light.

Mine doesn't have motion record so I might need to rewire it to something that is always on... Someone tried robbing my truck of it's tailgate...

I am going to test to see if it's constant power only when it thinks you're in the video.
I'll basically sit in the car and lock it and wait 5 mins touching nothing.
I will open the glove-box and see if it comes on.

Ran both my constant and my ACC out the Clutch access hole to the fuse box took less than 10 minutes.

You will run your battery down if you direct wire to hot wire unless you have voltage cutoff.

Wonder if there's a firmware that'll let it record on motion... Seems silly that it doesn't

dash cam is the best addition in my opinion-I just have 2 dash cam ponies -one out front and one facing back-just plugged in the 12volt port in the back of the center console with a splitter to run both-all wires are hidden-and sd cards just run and overwrite as you probably know anyway-not hard wired but they will come on if if you set the g-sensor if you get bumped while parked as long as the battery is still charged. That's how I read the manual anyway.

Started the install of the Blackvue 750 2 channel camera system. Comes with a front and rear camera. Installed the rear on on the passenger side (I have the power sliding rear window) and ran the cable along the headliner and rubber door sills - super easy to tuck it all out of sight. Power cable runs along the head liner and down the drivers side A piller down to the floor. I have fuse taps and firewall boot coming tonight (love same day delivery from Amazon!). Will drill the clutch plate and make the connection. Blackvue Powermagic allows the camera to record in park mode while protecting the battery. It has a timer and low voltage cut off.

So far so good - will post install pictures once completed.

Finished the install tonight. Went with the BlackVue 750 2 channel camera with “Powermagic”, which allows recording while parked and shuts everything down if the voltage drops too low.

I used the firewall boot through the clutch plate cover and used fuse taps to make the connections.

Below are a few pictures, and yes the orange thing is an earplug to make a tight seal out of the boot.

How do you all wire to the sliding rear window switch? Isn't that 12v? My dash cam says it runs on 5v, which makes sense since it come with a cigarette lighter USB adapter which would be 5v. I see Amazon has a hard wire kit that basically has an inline voltage regulator to output 5v with a 12v input.
