here’s my situation.
I got my 24” rims with Majoris M5 tires. 285/40r24

I had the same tires in 22” on my last truck and they were good for the price.

I put them on and they vibrated at 60mph pretty badly. Lots of weight hidden on the inside of the spokes which looked good.

I got them to rebalance and now they have a crapload if weight in plain sight less than 2” in from the front edge.

The manager says I can have hidden weight plus highway vibration or this: NOT COOL!

Did the shop mount the lightest part of the tire at the valve stem?

That rim design does look difficult to hide weights, but that is a lot of weight in one spot.

Do they do a lot of 20”+ combos? Is it at least a road force balancer they have?

I see either inexperience, laziness, or a bad tire being the culprit.

Yes it was a Road force.
agreed, they are tricky rims to hide weight. I would accept weight on the back half of the 10” wide rims, but not so close to the front.

The laziness shows with the sticker residue from last week. The manager said the installer “didn’t want to damage my new wheels while removing it.”
Thanks?!

He said they will remove all weight and clean them back up and I can take it elsewhere to get balanced and they will credit my account the balance.

I just feel back going to the store that I ended up not buying them from after a $500 higher estimate to fix them :(

first question i had when i bought my rims is where do you put the weights. the owner smiled and said inside at the back or we pick a different tire.

i'll be going back to him for tires when i'm ready for them.

You could always try

Ride on.

Its a gel like liquid that goes inside the tire to balance it.

I use it on motorcycle tires and have used it on one really bad truck tire with great results.

Sticks to the tire not the rim. Washes away with water and is NOT like other slime type products.

Update:
I had the dealership take all weights off and clean residue, then took it to another tire shop and they did a perfect job. No wobble and no visible weights.
