i have a 09 slt 2wd with factory 17 inch wheels, i will be getting factory 20's and a 2 inch leveling kit for the front end

im wanting to know what i need to do to keep 305/55/20 tires from rubbing?

33in tall wont be a problem, im wondering if the width will be an issue..

if anyone has done this can you help me out? maybe a picture or 2 so i can see what its going to look like.

thanks

305's will probably rub inside as you approach full steering lock. I'd look into some spacers if you have the problem.

I agree, I believe the spacers should solve any rubbing problem you will have.

If its like my trick with 305s. 1/4 wheel spacers should be all you need.

thanks for the replys,

the only wheel spacers ive managed to find are at least 1 1/4 inch

do they make 1/4 inch spacers?

and is hub centric a brand name or a type of spacer?

thanks

The dimension you are referring to is probably the diameter of the circle. The dimension we are referring to is the thickness of the spacer.

Hub centric vs. Lug centric - These terms can be applied to wheels & spacers. They aren't brands, they have to do with the configuration of those parts.

Nearly all OEM Wheels are designed to be hub-centric. The automaker designs an OEM wheel to fit on a certain car or range of cars. The center bore of the wheel is sized to fit perfectly onto the axle of that car. This is a hub-centric connection, as the wheel is centered by it's connection to the axle hub. The lugnuts hold the wheel firmly to the mounting plate, but it is the wheel-to-axle connection that actually holds the weight of the car.

Hub diameter is therefore an extremely important consideration when fitting new wheels, whether OEM or aftermarket. If the hub diameter is smaller that the axle, the wheel will simply not fit. Most aftermarket wheels are therefore made with larger hub diameters to ensure that they will fit on a wide range of cars. This means that when the wheel is installed, there will most likely be a space between the axle and the hub instead of a firm contact. The wheel is therefore lug-centric, as the wheel is centered by the lugs rather than by the hub.

So, in order to insure you don't suffer from a very bad vibration, make sure the spacers are hub centric.

being that your truck is 2wd there is a chance that you won't rub with 305's with the chrome clad 20's. with the non chrome clad 20's you shouldn't rub at all(talking about 4t gen wheels here)
