I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 with the Off-road package. I am wanting to possibly put bigger tires on it than the 285/70/17 tires that are on it. Is it possible to do this without lifting it further or doing a leveling kit? I load the back/tow every once in a while and don't want the truck squatting when I'm doing that so I'd like to leave it as is. The tire size I was thinking is 35x10.5x17 on stock rims. Ive looked on different threads and haven't seen any comments on this size. Most people get 35x12.5 and say they rub but all the rubbing seems to be due to width rather than height. Wanting help before spending over a grand on tires l.

I'd think you'd need a front level, maybe rear too. Your current tires are a little less than 33 inch and 11 inches wide so a 35x 10.5 is probably doable.

You may get lucky with the perfect wheel back spacing, but I would agree that you would probly need a level.

35x10.5 would look sharp with no lift. I better clearance issues would be minimal.
I have trimmed plastic inner fender andcrear corner to clear. Sonetimes juat knocking a seam flat with a sledge hammer is all thats needed.

Do it and share pics of finished results

I have a power wagon with a factory lift and my 35 grapplers rubbed on full lock on the drivers side.I doubt your 1500 will take 35's without some help.
