Has anyone with the Borla ProXS deleted the resonators from their exhaust? If so what has it done for the sound? At right around 1500 rpm's under certain conditions the sound gets really loud just for a moment in the cab and it's really annoying. Don't know if that's what you all consider drone or not but i'm thinking the resonators might have something to do with it.

I did not and the sound is just right for me...then again, I'm not under the delusion my Reb is a sports car or dragster, so YMMV!

As to the drone, have you turned off MDS? That'll make a difference!

Drone on these trucks are in the 1500-1900 rpm range which is perfect as that’s like 55-70mph on the highway lol. No way around it, the drone is vibrations/tone in the muffler which resonates into the cab (crew cabs or larger cabs are worse than single cabs) bc of muffler placement. You can put a drone pipe on it or try to add sound deadoner in the cab around the muffler.

I had a 18” maggy clone and that thing was wicked drone in that 1500-1900 range. So much that I removed it after like 500 miles and put a 21-23” dynomax catback on it. That catback had minimal drone if any due to the larger case and it was much heavier than the maggy clone. Traded the truck in after 2 years with it on, removed it and got a 18CC and I’m leaving the stock muffler/catback as I’ve learned.

It’s only at 1500 exactly and gone by 1600 or so. Only happens when accelerating, not cruising. I’ll live with it for now, may not keep it. Guess everyone has their opinions on slightly louder than stock but imo it’s a lot louder.

I wouldn't delete the resonators to try and remove drone....it will most likely make it worse. I had a ProXS on my truck at one point and I could only detect a very slight drone when loading the engine going up a hill in 6th-7th gears, usually in a 45mph zone. I'm very cognizant of drone as it really bothers me. Out of the 6 mufflers I've had on my truck, the ProXS sounded very good and had very minimal drone....compared to the others. I have a Flowmaster 50HD on now, and I can't detect any drone at any speed or rpm....it's perfect for me.

If you decide the ProXS is too loud or the drone gets to you, I would recommend a Solo Performance Mach 44 (muffler only) or a Magnaflow 22". These will not be quite as loud as the ProXs and should not drone (larger case size). I had a Mach 44 muffler (not the catback system) on my truck for a bit and it had zero drone, but wasn't quite loud enough for me. It's just a bit louder than stock....it will be in the middle between stock and your ProXS. From videos I watched, the MF 22" sounds very similar to the Mach 44 and is a little less expensive.

I guess the pro xs has a slight drone in that range when its cold or in betweenshifts on back roads. But going from the carven progressive to the borla it doesnt bother me at all. Just the right amount of noise for me and i got pretty sensitive ears.

Well since I just put it on I guess I'll give it awhile and see if I adjust to it. It just seems awful loud inside and wasn't what i expected based on others here and videos I've listened to. Part of the problem could be me, or more precisely my ears. I'm almost deaf in one ear and going in the other due to a shell explosion years ago, hence there's a whole range of sound i don't hear. I could wear my hearing aid but I don't as I don't like half the **** I do hear haha.

Ok so it's gotta be me. Last night drove over to an industrial area so I could actually here it for myself from the outside perspective. She drove over and to my total amazement to was quiet as a church mouse on the passenger side! I'm like wow! Sounds great outside! I drive to work this morning and it's loud again, however she stated it was the same side to side so it's all good i guess.
