2020 Classic Tradesman...

I obtained some aftermarket tow mirrors and installed them. Programmed the turn signals and puddle lights, and everything seems to work fine, including the mirror direction controls.

Question for those of you with tow mirrors; do the turn signals act as running lights as well? Mine don’t, and I’m wondering if I missed something in the programming.

Think that is a 5th gen setup and not on classic. So aftermarket or custom wiring would be necessary.

My 2019 2500 tradesman has markers. Looks great I'm happy I ended up with them.

The adapters linked in the above post will work on your truck.

The kit in that link is $95??

https://www.jhdlighting.com/

Use this kit, $20 and doesn’t tap into your dimmer circuit, which seems stupid. This kit has been on my truck for over a year and works fine. And the markers don’t drop when you turn on the turn signal.

It’s just another option to get running lights. Unlike the kit you used, it’s plug n play, you’re not using those t-taps that bludgeon your factory wiring, you don’t have to run any wires through the doors and across the cab, and they are true switchbacks (turn signal blinks on-off-on-off). The kit you have is already dimmed because of the resistor that makes the running light just illuminate bright/dim when the turn signal is on. Either way, there are plenty of options.

They do not but there are a couple of aftermarket options to enable them.

hope this doesn’t break any forum rules but here is one

Just an update; that kit does not work in a 2020 classic Tradesman...

Once installed and programmed in that vehicle, the turn signals in the mirrors come on and stay on all the time when the ignition is on regardless of light switch position... and the mirror turn signals no longer work.

Likely has to do with where the feeder is being pulled out of the door module to power the relay used in that harness.

I’m working with a supplier to get a schematic and will compare it to my particular door modules.

I’m sure there’s a way I can get it working, as I have the schematics for the truck, I just need to figure out what he’s doing with his harness.

Jimmy07:

Thanks for the PM. Will research on this and let you know.

I could’ve made some basic error, or there might be something different on the door module wiring.

I have that switchback kit on my 2014 because i wanted plug and play. Really like it and Only question I just sent to dude's.. when running lights are on, and i use blinker, its just going dim bright , dim bright, if dimmer switch is low. If high, the blinker is washed out, looks steady on. Im not an electronic wizard. Is that norm because on dimmer circuit?

Got my install done. This kit is EXCELLENT, plug and play. Works perfectly truly flash on off on with running light and blinker...and with zip ties, Looks completely OEM.
Switchback configuration was WELLl worth the cost.
Thanks @Jimmy07 for helping me thru the install, since I'm No electronic wizard. :) . . GREAT GUY.
