I bought a new 17 2500 and it doesn't have tow mirrors. I'm gonna be hauling a camper so I will need some.

My current mirror options are Folding, Memory, heated, has the signal and the puddle lamp. I'm trying to find Tow mirrors that will work on my truck without throwing codes or burning up modulators. \

Anyone have any experience with this?

I've got a 2017 1500 Big Horn with the power folding/puddle light/heated.. I ordered the towing version of the power folding mirrors from a1 auto. I installed myself about a month ago, and they are working great (no need to flash the codes at the dealership). I just plugged them in and they worked. If you've got the power folding already, you shouldn't need to flash the codes..

I thought all of the HD trucks came with tow mirrors? Stupid question, have you tried to tilt/rotate them up and out?

Funny, I have a 1500 that has tow mirrors! haha

My buddy also has a 2014 2500 Megacab, he does not have tow mirrors. I almost want to trade him but I LOVE the tow mirrors.
(and no I don't have them up!)

Yes sir, It is stupid that a 2500 doesn't come with tow mirrors. I would have a 1500 if I wasnt gonna pull large things.

I bought clip on tow mirrors for my 2500. Makes no sense for the 2500s to come without tow mirrors when so many 1500s come with them
Especially because they look exactly the same and probably have the same exact measurements when closed. I wonder why Ram even bothers to put non-towing mirrors on any Ram...

Good luck OP, sounds like any features you currently have should continue to work on new mirrors. The factory tow mirrors are awesome! I'm 190 miles from home, finishing up an 1800 mile round trip myself! Love the tow mirrors!!!

When you install the tow mirrors, make sure you get the brackets for them that mount inside the door due to the extra surface area and heavier weight. You don't want them to vibrate.

Cuz they can make more money by charging for them as an option, and not every one wants or needs them. They do hurt mpg.

I put the towing mirrors on my 97 dually, as it came with regular mirrors, and my mpg dropped 1/2 mile per gallon, and this was on a 12v diesel.

I don't use mine when towing my boat, but do with my camper.

Exactly, it' the cost. Tow mirrors was a priority when I traded up to a 2500. I like mine. Clip on, strap on tow mirror extensions help but I've never cared for them much.

The best tow mirrors I've ever had were the oem ones on my 1999 ford super duty. They had excellent visibility left and right sides.

I'd upgrade to oem tow mirrors if you can. Hopefully it's not a $1200 proposition like it would not have been on my 2015, 1500 Silverado,. That's one of the reasons I got out of that truck
