So a while back after putting on my new wheels and tires and deciding that 80 psi in them makes the truck ride like a log wagon, I lowered the pressure to ~ 50 psi. I then asked the dealer if they could adjust the alarm points for the TPMS to 50 psi, they said sure and did adjust it, however it still sets off the alarm. Did they just not reset it correctly, or is everyone that runs lower tire pressure still getting this message? As you can see in the picture, it says inflate to 50 PSI and all the tires are > 50 PSI, so I don't understand why it is still saying these are low...and why only the rear, still says the rears are low even after rotating the tires.

Question...the recommended pressure is 39 for optional 20's...why go higher? Does it ride better? Thx

I have a 2500, and they came set at like 80 from the factory. I switched out my wheels and tires for some 20's and larger AT tires, so wanted to not run 80#s in them.

To me, it sounds like the dealer didn't set them properly. I'd call them and explain the work you had done isn't done correctly.

thanks...that is kind of what I was thinking as well...I am not really that impressed with this dealership, just go there because all the maintenance is free...I know a service writer at another dealer, so may go to him to get it checked...I know he will at least shoot me straight. The reason I suspect this dealer is that when I had them try to adjust speedo for larger tires (which they said they could do up to a certain size), when I left the dealership, the speedo didn't work at all, so I kind of think they don't know what they are doing.

I went to the dealer and tried to have the psi lowered as well and they told me that the ECM won't allow them to lower it. I don't know if they were feeding me BS or not. I've been driving mine with the warning lights on.
