just bought a set of 2017 stock sport wheels to replace my damaged wheels. They were takeoffs from the same year 2017 as my truck. My dash reads service tire pressure system and I’m getting no reading. I’ve driven about 50 miles with them so far. Any idea?

I took some TPMS sensors I bought on Amazon to my local tire shop and they waived a magic wand (TPMS Scan tool?) over them and were able to tell that they were the correct ones for the truck, the batteries were good and that they were enabled to talk to the truck. They didn't charge anything as it took about a minute. Might stop by a shop and see if they have the tool and if they'd check them out for you. That will at least tell you if the sensor batteries are bad, or if when the guy had them pulled off, maybe the tire shop that did his work put them in some kind of sleep mode to save the batteries? Just an idea.

I’d be happy disabling it until I get new tires at the end of summer. I just have the dash light on and I hate it.

Do the tires you bought even have sensors in them?? Did the seller tell you they had sensors or are you assuming they had sensors? Many guys will pull them to put in custom wheels instead of buying new ones since they're kinda pricey. If the tires came off a '17 and you're putting them on your '17 they should work just fine, if they're in there. They've been using the same frequency for several years now including the '18's, they're all 434mhz.

Unless the shop stole them, they are in there. He said it was just as expensive to have them pulled as it was to buy new ones. They may have pulled them and charged him for 4 though.

Go to your local tire shop and have them wave the sensor tool to see if they're good or not. If the sensors are good your truck shouldn't have any issue reading them.
