I took my 2017 Ram 2500 in and had the tires rotated. Of course, the TPMS tire pressure flashing screen was showing when I picked the truck up.
I then proceeded to drive the truck for 30 minutes with out it resetting.
I went online and there are several articles from dealers saying push the TPMS reset button with the key in the middle position.
I then searched for the location of the TPMS reset button, and it says under the dash.
I took a flashlight and locked for 20 minutes under the dash, and do not find any buttons near the steering wheel.
Does anyone have a picture of the location of the button?
I can’ afford to drive again at $6.19 a gallon.

There's no "reset" button for the tire pressure monitoring, it will clear itself if there is no problems. If the tires are low then correct the pressure. It's possible one of the tire sensors has gone bad.

Ok. Why did all of the sensors work fine before the tire rotation and now the backs show up in the front and the fronts show up in the back with the correct tire pressure if one is bad?
If one is bad, would it not register?
Also, why are there four dealer articles saying to press the TPMS reset button if there is not one in the truck?

If there was a button on the 2500s, someone on this forum would have mentioned it by now.
This post may shed some light:

So, the truck is stock and has OEM mopar sensors.
I told this problem to my son, and he has an odbc tool. After he reset it, the sensors are now correct.
For the future, and for others who don’t have access to an odbc tool, can someone verify that the 4 dealer articles that mention a tpms reset button are incorrect, or post a picture of location?

Recently went through the same thing. There are tons of articles on the web talking about this TPMS reset button but I have never found anything on my '16 2500HD.

I am also having issues with TPMS. I have a 2019 RAM 1500 that the OEM sensors died in three wheels. I replaced the OEM sensors with aftermarket from Rock Auto that they said were programed. I've driven the truck now for about 500 miles and the TPMS is still not reading anything. I purchased a MaxiTPMS 508WF computer and attempted to program the sensors. The TPMS tool reads the sensors, and they are working but my truck doesn't read them, I guess. Can you help?

What brand/part# sensors did you use?

If the sensors are compatible and there are no problems with your truck, it will automatically pick up the sensors within a few 10s of miles.

If it hasn't after 500 miles, either your sensors are bad, your rf hub is bad, or you got bad/incompatible sensors.

Since you now own a MaxiTPMS 508WF, you can just buy Autel MX sensors and program them to absolutely any car you own. I have a similar ThinkTPMS tool that can program ThinkCar brand sensors, and an ATEQ VT37. The ATEQ can program like, 40+ different brands of sensors.

But i don't by anything exept Schrader sensors. I've never had one not work, so i stick to what has been good to me. I have the pre-programmed Schrader sensors and the programmable EZ-Sensors too, and they are all really good.

In your case, the Autel MX-Sensor makes sense, since you already have the programmer.

Yeah, no reset button that I have found or even suspect is available..

All my tires read 35 PSI on the cluster AND my hand held digital TP gauge. Does not give the "red highlight" or the "inflate to 39 PSI" warning. The stupid low pressure warning is on. Tried airing all up to 40 PSI and driving around. No joy. Been a week now.

Opened OBDLink and there is nothing that can be reset.

Kind of at a loss on this one but would like to have the TPMS operational. I guess a battery disconnect today is the last ditch attempt.

When it was New, the TPMS on my 12 Ram were always popping warnings. (door sticker called for 37 psi, and accurate gauges were used to ck them, but the warnings persisted.) I established that 42 psi would work better…but that made for a harsh ride.
After 6 mos I was PO’d about the frequent TPMS warnings….and the selling dealer said TPMS were not warranty…. so I had Discount Tire replace them All. Cost was $300+ …but they worked good.

Last week the Wife’s Toyota Sienna got new Goodyears at WalMart.
(Back-Story: I’ve been a devoted Discount Tire customer for last 15 years. With 4 cars, and rough ranch roads they’ve liked Me as-well.)
But the Michelins on my wife’s Toy were getting worn out ….DT priced tires at $1200 again…..and I happened to notice tire prices at WalMart seemed considerably lower. I used to buy tires at WM 30 years ago….but not since we got a DT nearby. Pricing 4 Goodyears installed / balanced / Roadhazard at DT was $1150…. same tires / installed / warranted at WM $750.
So I decided to try a WM set.
Was surprised an appt resulted in complete job done in only 1 hour. (Note: WM req’d 3 days to order the tires I waited to get them in-stock. They called on day-2 to say “they’re here” and I went in next morning.)

Only yesterday Wife says her TPMS warning is “On” in her ‘18 Toyota Sienna.
7+ year-old car prob’ly needs new TPMS, as that’s about the life of batteries in them anyway.
I called WM and asked if they can perform TPMS work on the Toyota….they said “Yes, $30 each tire”

I took it in … an hour later left WM with Four new TPMS. $120 . No problem. (I’m kicking myself only because I should have had new TPMS instaalled while they did tires last week.)

My conclusions are that OEM TPMS can be defective, that TPMS have battery-lives of about 7 years,…. DT is no longer the best tire store for me, WM has improved the quality and speed of their service dept, and brand-name tires / batteries are good quality and fair pricing if your WM will keep an appt as well as the one local to me. (Costco also has a good rep in tire service according to friends.) ASK if your tire store can service TPMS. You may be surprised.

Have you tried tweaking this BCM setting?

We have two 2014 vehicles......OEM TPMS batteries still kicking
Possibly they damaged yours on tire install, since they were working before new tire install????

I think if they’d damaged them with the new tire installation….the TPMS would have “triggered” on the 20-mile drive home….or the next day…or the day after that…. SomeTime within the almost 200 miles the wife drove over that week.

Lithium (any type) battery-life is heavily dependent upon How Fresh they were when the TPMS was first created, How it was subsequently-stored, the Temperature of storage…How Often the vehicle is driven (the TPMS goes to “sleep” when the car is parked and no centrifugal-forces are applied), and on and on and so-on…. the very many variables…. Not to mention the quality of the battery mfr’ to begin-with…. Huge difference in quality of battery brands mfr’. (I’ve had some surprises when off-brand batteries have out-performed DuraCells and Ray-o-Vacs. In-fact, the batteries MOST LIKELY to LEAK in my experience have been DuraCells. I avoid them completely. They’ve ruined two sets (pairs) of expensive aviation headsets, numerous flashlights, and a $2K emer-locator-beacon.)

The normal warning settings on TPMS for Ram is 20% below the door sticker. So if the Sticker says 36 LBs it alerts at anything below 29. If the door says 65, alerts below 52. I wanted to run my Duratracs on my 2500 at 42 rear, 47 front. I used AlphaOBD to reset the warning limits to 40 all round, so now alerts below 32.

There is NO RESET button on Ram or Jeep from 1996 to today. If the TPMS are the right frequency and registered properly the TPMS reading will auto learn. I swap tires and Rims on my wife's 2020 GC twice a year. Never had an issue with it learning, most often almost.immediately. All sensors are Mopar. If it isn't learning, disconnect battery over night. Start fresh.
